I'm typing this review on an iPhone and that's probably to your benefit because I can't say enough about Monte Mulini. First thing to know is that this is a boutique hotel, not a typical resort. This is a good thing in my opinion. Secondly, and probably most importantly, the staff are some of the sweetest, warmest, kindest hotel staff I've ever encountered, and not in a way that's 'too much' as you might wonder. Next, the location is just excellent - close enough to town to walk, but far enough to be off the beaten path. The view of the bay, the sunsets, the amount of sun the location gets, all perfect. Now to the hotel itself - just impeccable. So clean, so contemporary yet with a touch of the classic. Lots of high tech stuff too for the geeks out there. Wifi needs a bit of work - quite wonky. The food was perfect each and every mean. The Wine Vault was quite an experience - we were a bit frightened of the ambitious menu and the seemingly insane combinations - but the chef pulls it all off and silenced me immediately. Stick to the local wines too - you will not be disappointed - unreal actually. (Croatian wine should get more attention.) Lastly is the spa - I'm struggling with words to explain it. Something between a therapeutic water park, an art gallery, a private playground, and HAL 3000! Ok so yeah - we really enjoyed our stay.

Visited the Monte Mulini in Rovinj, Croatia in Sept 2011. One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. Top top quality hotel. The views of the tree lined bay was a stunning site every morning when we drew back the curtains. Every aspect of the hotel, rooms, bar, restaurants overlook the pools and the bay. Swimming in the warm Adriatic was a pleasure. Rovinj itself is a lovely town, one of the most picturesque places we have ever been. Returning is a given.

We returned from the Monte Mulini last week. If only we could have found one fault but we couldn't. The hotel siting was perfect only an eight min. stroll to the centre of Rovinj were there were the most wonderful selection of restaurants to choose from if you chose to eat out at night. As for the hotel never before have we met with such polite friendly and knowledgeable staff all eager to please in a very quite way. The food was brilliant and the selection second to none. The Hotel had a sailing yacht which did cruises around the local islands three times a day lasting approx. 3 house and the evening cruise took in islands and the amazing sunset this lasted approx 1 3/4 hours. We will certainly return to the Monte Mulini

Had a very nice 2 nights break at this 5 star hotel. Great location and very friendly & helpful staff. The restaurant is excellent and the wine list unique, if you are looking for local wines - many thanks to Mr. Emil, the head sommelier!
Also enjoyed breakfast out on the terrace with a great view over the bay.

I am looking forward to my next break there .....
