“good ...but beware”

complex & location good. but, unless you like club music midnight onwards! make sure you are located as far away from the night club as possible. I am a sound sleeper, however thump thump did for me. We were lucky to get room changed, you have to see manager/supervisor. Reception staff stock reply "if you come to beach resort expect music three/four in morning. So this appart we had a good holiday. Good....but beware!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the nightclub are quieter!

“Ideal self-catering apartment”

Wow, what a beautiful place. Croatia in general, but Laguna Bellevue tool. Two adults and a child and we had an upstairs apartment with two bathrooms, a separate bedroom and two balconies. The kitchen area was tiny but we didn't use it too often. Apartment was 400 and something and the only trick here is to avoid getting too much closer to the nightclub. Facilities were great and there is a mini-supermarket onsite that sells everything from freshly baked bread to Dom Perignon. It was a couple of minutes walk to the sea. Note I didn't say beach - there isn't one. Instead there's a coastline that stretches into Porec (about 20 minutes walk, great for a morning run) with rocks and bathing platforms into the sea with pine trees everywhere. My son missed sand castles, but instead you get clear water and no sand in your pants. Overall a brilliant holiday, Porec is great and avoids catering for the bingo and fish and chips crowds on purpose. Only downside to the whole trip: the large glass doors from the apartments to the balcony aren't made of shatter-proof glass. Be careful as my son smashed one by walking into it and we were charged for repairs. But that won't put me off going back!

“Great place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We stayed for a week in September with my boyfriend's parents and had a brilliant time. It wasn't a great start though as when we arrived we were messed around with the time our room would be ready, so didn't get into it until 5pm. Luckily their apartment was so we went and stayed in there- it was in the Mediterranean villa and was a modern apartment with a lovely big balcony.

When we finally got to our apartment it made up for the wait! We were in the yellow villa next to the pool right at the top. Our view was over to the sea and out to Porec, which was beautiful day and night!

The apartments are a great place to start from, with being only a 30minute walk to central Porec. It's a walk along the sea front and a nice thing to be done, however if it's too much to walk back then you can get a water taxi to the hotel for about £2.50 each.

We had a car so could get around the area easily, but Thomson (who we booked with) had excursions arranged so I don't think it would be a problem if you didn't have one. Collection point is at the Mediteran hotel next door, so not far to walk. A warning to anyone booking a trip to the Plitvice lakes - it's a 4.5 hr coach drive there and 4.5hrs back! It's a beautiful place to go but be prepared for the journey!

One slight warning if you like to watch TV in the evenings - it's all in German! We occasionally found a 'Hell's Kitchen' episode that was in English with German subtitles. It's not a major thing but would have been nice to have at least 1 channel we could have watched after a busy day out and about.

Overall I'd recommend the apartments and would go back to Porec again.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room in the yellow villa by the pool!

“Pleasant fortnight in croatia”

laguna bellvue apartments or at least the one bedroom ones are very comfortable, two bathrooms and two balconies, the view from the balconies of our room (402) was spectacular, the sort of view that you would willingly pay extra for! The only downside was the last day when the maid chaged the towels at 11:00 she decided that as we were due to checkout the next morning at 07:00 we would only need one very small hand towel and one one face towel between us and sudenly the reception guy couldn't speak english any more (he'd managed ok a few days before when trying to sell us excursions) still at least we had our beach towels to use after showering.

Porec is a fascinating old town although a good walk away with lots of up and down from where we were, but for some reason after the end of September the public toilets were all barred and bolted and the little train to and from town suddenly stopped running after 8PM

“Great holiday”

We had a week at Laguna Bellevue and really enjoyed it. The appartment was in the "A" area, close to the large villa and a play area. The pool was close by but we didn't try it, preferring the sea a short walk away. There were no noise problems and the appartment was spacious and clean (bathroom very small though). We went to the restaurant next to the pool and another down by the sea and both were good.
We caught the bus from Porec to Pula and enjoyed looking around there and also went to Venice on the catamaran from Porec. Another visit was to St Nikolos Island just off Porec.
Parts of the beach near the appartments were busy but others were very quiet. We tended to go for an early swim and were almost on our own.
This was out third visit to Croatia, but the first to Istria. It's quite different to the Makarska area where we have been before (no mountains), but still has some excellent scenery, history and clear blue sea.
