We were warmly welcomed at Hotel Park in Lovran and shown to a clean, comfortable room with a roomy balcony and a beautiful view. The rooms at the front are noisy - traffic, people and music from nearby bars. We overcame this at night by closing the blinds and putting on the air conditioning . The hotel has an indoor pool with gym and spa facilities. It has no outdoor space but the sea and gardens are only across the road. It's in the middle of the small town of Lovran which is very pretty with several bars and restaurants and places to sun bathe. We had half board at Hotel Park which was cheap probably because they don't appear to spend much on food. Breakfast was OK but dinner was lacking in flavour and imagination. It was help yourself and the food was laid out just before 19.00 so never hot. The salads were the same every night. Main course was some indistiguishable meat in a brown sauce with over cooked vegetables. Dessert was always little cakes or fresh fruit. The drinks dispensers were covered up in the evening so you had pay extra for water, tea, coffee or juice. I would go back to the hotel because of the lovely staff and great location but I couldn't stomach a whole week of their dull dinners.
