This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel and I'm confident we'll back! Ok, its not five star luxury but it did everything we needed it to. We requested a pool view room from our travel agent in the hope that we'd end up with a sea view by default! We weren't disappointed and we had the most amazing view of Korcula town and the harbour. We didn't have a balcony though. The room was basic but clean. It would benefit from air conditioning and perhaps a firmer bed. Mini bar was useful to use as a fridge but drinks were also really reasonable. Food in the restaurant was always ok - reasonable continental style breakfast and plenty of choice for dinner. We got into the habit though of just having a snack from the hotel at dinner time and going to a lovely wine bar overlooking the harbour and enjoying local specialities. Previous reviewers have commented on the staff being unpleasant but we found them to be polite and helpful (although one of the blokes at reception did have a very dry sense of humour). What really makes this hotel though is its location. Its about a 5 minute walk into the old town and about 2 minutes from some lovely bars overlooking the harbour. With a few tweaks, this hotel could be really excellent.

Our stay got off to an awful start. After spending a long day travelling, we arrived at the hotel only to be told by the person on the counter that they were fully booked. He explained that he had organised a night for us in a hotel in the old town (which was nicer) but we had been awake for 20 hours at this point and had just walked from the old town with our heavy luggage. He wasn't apologetic at all and really didn't care that we had been put out. We were upset but he wasn't bothered!

For the remainder of our stay, we found Liburna very dated but it was clean enough and the room was OK. Evening meals in the restaurant were basic but the view from the outdoor eating area was beautiful. The hotel is located ten minutes walk from the old town and the walk is lined with bars, restaurants and the beach. Overall, book this hotel if you would choose location over modern facilities and if you can tolerate the rude, grey haired man on reception (Other members of staff incidently were much more friendly, particularly the night time receptionist who was lovely).

Spent 3 nights in Hotel Liburna with my wife and 3 children, and sorry to report but it was utterly disgusting. Terrible rooms with no air con or fans. Most uncomfortable beds ever. The food was disgusting. No effort made at all by the chef and kitchen staff. Couldn't wait to leave unfortunately

The greatest advantage is the location, very close to the old city, a beautiful panoramic view, the beach is near the hotel, the location is quiet. The food is tasty and plenty, the building is larger enough with a big restaurant, the staff are friendly and helpful. The bad points: the pool is a bit too small and the furniture inside the room is a little dated. So, the hotel is good value for money, I will stay again.
