This “hotel” (that makes it sound better than it is) is over a terribly smoky restaurant, so checking in requires stinking up yourself and all of your belongings before even cramming into the tiny elevator and making it up to your room. It only gets worse from there. The rooms are horribly dingy, with worn carpet, stained window treatments, and walls you want to avoid touching. Trying to sleep in the bed left me feeling dirty, plus it’s not comfortable and there’s not even a comforter to make it look like a decent place to sleep. On the “service” (that’s nonexistent) front, my friend and I were sent to a room that had one double bed. When I went back down to the desk and explained that I had requested a room with 2 twin beds, the obnoxious person told me at the desk told me that I’d need to pay 40 kuna more. Although I had e-mail confirmation of the room I requested being the initial price, this worker and another refused to budge. It seems ridiculous that they were more concerned with making so little (less than 8 USD) extra money than with honoring their word, achieving customer satisfaction, and gaining future business. The hotel options in Split are limited, but doing this small city as a day trip would be better than staying at Hotel Adriana. Half of what we paid would have been too much for this unprofessional dump.
