The Riva is a nice hotel but very expensive for the size of the rooms. You cannot really accomodate 2 big luggages.
Vey convenient if you come from the boat from Split.
Very clean, staff professional but distant. Food and drinks expensive.
You unfortunately pay for the location...
Next time we will try a guest house.

Choosing to stay at Riva Hotel in Hvar was one big faux pas in our European trip - apparently there was hype when the place opened (presumably because of the location and marketing at yuppie clientele) but there were so many inconveniences and discomforts involved in staying here that it was a downright burden. From banging my head on the low ceilings, to having to erect a bathrobe barrier in the door-less arch between the bedrooms and bathroom just to get a bit of privacy, to the unhelpful and inexperienced staff, to the mediocre breakfast and inability to make your own coffee (very convenient, given the wait staff), the list goes on...I know this hotel prides itself on 'cutting-edge' design, but if it's more comfortable to stay at home, what's the point?

Nice stay at the Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel. The hotel was nice but the location was unbeatable - right across from the waterfront. Beautiful views and lots of nice cafes and activity nearby. The ferry boats also dock a few feet from the hotel. Rooms were in nice condition but were a little small and quirky in terms of design. Bathroom was separated by glass walls from the rest of the room and the shower door let water out into the rest of the bathroom. Breakfast was good and you could eat sitting right on the riva and watch the action.

The hotel is very well located only 100 metres from ferry terminal. The rooms however are unbelievably small unless you stay in a suite. The staff I found to be very friendly and helpful. The private beach club (bonj les bains) was expensive but a very relaxing way to enjoy the location.
