First, I see in these reviews there are 2 different Hotel Croatias being reviewed! This us for the one in HVAR not Cavtat. Nice location, nice views and grounds. Hotel was basic and service was cold. Also, my reservation said free wireless Internet in all of hotel included. They said There was a charge. A younger gentleman consulted with an older women and then she told him that yes, I had to pay. She didn't care what my reservation said. That evening, a younger women was much friendlier. We checked out only to find we were charged for breakfast, also included in the reservation. Breakfast was quite poor compared to any others we had throughout our Europe tour.
We paid 199 euros per nt and were quite happy to leave. Not a good value, just all that was left during the busy season. Would not choose to return to this hotel. Service matters!!

i don't know about the rooms, but the restaurant is good, try daily menu, black risotto,and apsolutly perfect semifredo fig with prošek sauce....

It is not new hotel, but it has a soul, peace and good restaurat...

The rooms are shabby and in a time warp. There were no sheets on sofa bed for my
daughter so we had to ask at 11pm night we arrived - the guy on night desk was v
helpful. The maids seemed to ration loo paper and were generally surly. The reception
staff tried their best but I was irritated to be asked for 80 kna to be taken down to
ferry by their own hotel transport. This should be gratis. Breakfast was fine except for
ancient toaster which had a constant queue of guests waiting..... I don't think it was
terribly good value but it will always be popular as it is a stroll away from beach and
about 15 mins scenic walk to town centre.

We checked into this hotel for one night and checked out the next morning. The rooms are well past their best with poor quality bedding and shoddy fixtures and fittings. We discovered that our air conditioning did not work and when we brought this to the attention of the staff we got little more than a shrug. After a very uncomfortable night we checked out as early as possible. We complained again about the air conditioning and requested a discount on the room rate. At this point we were told by the hotel manager that our air conditioning had been working all night, implying that we were not telling the truth. Unless the manager had infact been hiding in our room all night, something I am fairly sure we would have noticed, I am not sure how she can have known this. We stuck to our guns and finally, grudgingly were given a discount. It is one thing to be mis-sold a room but quite another for hotel management to suggest that you are making things up. do yourself a favour and give this a miss
