We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The recent bad review given by one reviewer is unjust. Yes, the furniture in the apartment may be a little outdated, but what do you expect from paying 18 Euros per person per night? The location couldn't be any better. It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach (which was crystal clear!) and 10 minutes to centre of town. The owner is a lovely lady who made us feel right at home.

Jagoda waited for us promptly at the boat and walked us to her car in the parking lot where her husband patiently waited. While walking she gave us the nickel spiel tour where everything was. It sounded like and old recording. Clearly, she does this so often, she can't even get enthused about it. There was no effort to provide further personal information. The room with a private bath was fine, although filthy. Clearly all the rooms she has is too much to be cleaned by one person. Sign of a neglect, smelly back up toilet/sewer line, soap scum in the tub. And if you wanted to feel like you are visiting a home in the 50's, the unmatched rugs and towels in pink tile bathroom will do that. We stayed for three nights, there was no communication if we would get clean towels (did not) although a sign that she was in the bathroom daily,by emptied trash can, was evident.
It was great to be able to cook in the communal kitchen that has all pots and utencils. Usage of refrigerator was great. Even a laundry detergent was left for our use in the bathroom. And with a clothes line and pins on the balcony we took advantage of doing our laundry in the tub. Great convenience. We stayed a bit too long, there really is not that much to do on the island, unless you have a car. Renting a scooter was twice as much as was on Korcula and they wanted to rent it out for a whole day, Half a day on a scooter is plenty. In the common area there are plenty of books and maps other travelers left behind. Free Wifi in the common area.
The reason Jagoda is waiting at the boat is to assure that her clients are not snatched by other room for rent providers that are looking to rent you a room. Look out for fast talkers with a photo albums trying to snatch you away.

My husband and I visited Hvar whilst on a trip around Croatia in Sept 09 and it was one of our favourite places. The island is absolutely beautiful and our stay at Jagoda's guest house made the trip even more memorable!

Jagoda is a fantastic host and, as other people have said, is incredibly helpful. After climbing the stairs up to the guest house, a cold on arrival was much appreciated. These small touches really make you feel welcome. It's great to have someone on hand to advise you about places to go etc, as there are a few companies on the harbour trying to sell boat trips.

Our room was spacious with a large terrace that had beautiful views. We had a kitchen that we didn't really use but it was useful to have a fridge to store bottled water etc. The bathroom was quite basic but everything was very clean and all in working order.

The restaurants on the harbour all looked lovely, but we particularly liked the one which was projecting Breakfast at Tiffany's on to the outside wall whilst the football was being shown for the men! Unfortunately we can't remember the name of it (not very helpful!) but it's one of the large ones on the front near to where the ferries dock.

We'd definitely go back to Hvar, and would love to stay for longer next time.

Just back from 2 glorious days in Hvar and loved every minute of this beautiful town along with the excellent accomodation. For anyone on a budget this is absolute bliss and I highly reccomend Hvar and Jacoda and Ante house, we just wished we had stayed longer
