We have just returned from our second very successful holiday to these excellent apartments run by a delightful Croatian family. The flats are within easy reach of Dubrovnic airport. Dubvovnic, and the surrounding islands, can be reached by water taxi and there are numerous local restaurants.

Couldn’t have asked for more with Apartment Tija really. Good sized apartment (especially for the price), with everything you need. Lovely balcony to sit and eat your dinner whilst looking at the stunning views over the Adriatic towards Dubrovnik. Apartment is spotlessly clean (and cleaned every day)

Location in Cavtat is perfect *very* close to the centre of the town with the minimarket, bakery. (This is important as Cavtat is located at the bottom of a steep hill, also a lot of the apartments listed on here pretty much lie about how close they are to the centre of the town/beach, and this one doesn’t).

The local family who run this place couldn’t do enough for you, and are genuine, honest and friendly people. Maro is a star! Picked is up and dropped us off at the airport, took us out for a few (?!) drinks, and many other things which you really wouldn’t expect from a landlord. A very interesting and funny guy!

Cavtat itself is great, perfect location for Dubrovnik, but stands up as a destination on its own. A very beautiful Romanesque/Venetian town, with amazing views over the sea and mountains. It is drastically cheaper than Dubrovnik, and has restaurants from fine dining to pizzerias. The boats (ships is probably more accurate) will make you green with envy!

To surmise, by renting here you get a good value apartment, in a great location, with amazing views. You’re also putting money into the local economy rather than rich foreigners. What could be better?!

I’d go back in a drop of a hat, can’t say better than that really.

We spent the last two weeks of August in beautiful Cavtat. We stayed at the Tija Appartments (in a two bedroomed appartment). We were collected from the airport by Maro (the owner of the appartment) and it took only about ten minutes to drive to Cavtat. he even stopped on the way to let us pick up one or two essentials from the supermarket. The appartment was very large and clean with everything we needed for our two week stay. The kitchen was well equipped (cooker, fridge freezer and microwave) The large bathroom had a walk in shower and a bath. Sheets were changed once and towels 3 times during our two week stay. The large terrace had an amazing view of the harbour below and over towards Dubrovnik in the distance. We were only a couple of minutes walk from all the restuarants and bars and the harbour. We found most of the restaurants similar in price and with very similar menus. We did however eat a few nights at the Dolium Restaurant where we found the service to be excellent. Just at the bottom of the hill we found the 'Peco 2' Bakery. It sells the most amazing bread, rolls and pastries/cakes. There are tables outside and every morning we spent about an hour there with a coffee and a pastry before we set off for the day. English newspapers arrive two days late and we paid almost £4.00 for the Daily Mail. Just along the front the Ancora Tapas and Wine Bar downloads copies of the Times and the Telegraph daily. It makes a nice stopping off point for lunch and early evening drinks. The food was good and the staff very friendly. It was also an ideal spot to sit and watch the amazing array of luxury yachts which moored in Cavtat each evening.
We caught the local bus to Dubrovnik 3 times. It costs 12 kuna and takes about 40 minutes (just when you think there isn't room for one more person another ten or so get on)!!! If you are visiiting the old town in Dubrovnik get off bus at the first stop (as you come into Dubrovnik) as if you go to the bus station you face a 30 minute walk (mostly uphill) back to the old town. There is a tourist bus back to Cavtat at 3.00p.m. each day from just outside the restaurant Dubravka. It costs 20 kuna but is well worth it as it only stops 2 or 3 times at hotel complexes along the way. In Dubrovnik we ate lunch in the Dubravka Restaurant which we found to be excellent (both food and service) Prices of food and drink were pretty similar to the UK. We found Cavtat to be an ideal holiday spot. There were plenty of restaurants and bars but no noisy nightclubs going on until the early hours of the morning. The weather while we were there was spectacular and we would most definitely go back and recommend both Cavtat and the Tija appartments.

Just back from our annual holiday and this time we spent it in the delightful 'cavtat. We stayed in the Tija apartments run by Maro which were as advertised and no more than 1 min walk from the village/town centre. We were collected from the airport as arranged and were in our apartment within 10-15 minutes ( my idea of a holiday - no long bus or taxi drive to our final destination). WE stayed in the one bedroom apartment which was large enough for two adults and our two teenagers. Apartment was very clean and towels and sheets were changed regularly The views of the harbour and hills from our very large terrace were amazing. Maro and his Dad Vlladro were very friendly and helpful . We will definately go back at some stage.
