“great: with few suggestions”

We chose Standard double room with sea view, because it was a lot cheaper than superior room - but it was a mistake. It was too small. On the first day the room was well cleaned and it didn't matter because we didn't have enough space to put all our clothes in the closet. But after three days it became a problem. Cleaning ladies probably work very hard during the season, but I think it's not OK to knock on guest's room early (on holiday early means before 9-9,30 am) to clean the room. So after 2 days we (and many others in our corridor) started to put "Do not disturb" sign on room doors. The room wasn't cleaned well, after the first day... I already read this kind of review, but I should have believed it! So, we didn't like the cleanliness - it could be much better in a 4* hotel. Although, the hotel wing where our room was placed - could be more like 3* or a bit less.
Every night, we heard noise from the promenade since our room was very close to it. "Excited" young people found very comfortable the benches in front of the hotel, so the sleep quality wasn't on a high level.
The wellness is OK, nothing special. I'd seen better wellness centers in hotels with the same category, and with better service.
The rest of the hotel looked nice. Food was OK. The sea & nature is beautiful - so that's the reason why we didn't stay disappointed. We had sun beds and umbrellas by the pool almost every day (if we were early enough). Also, we had fresh beach towels every day. I liked very much the morning aqua aerobics in the pool. I had tried the fitness center, but it didn't have well equipped air condition so it was impossible to breathe after half an hour.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to families and to couples.

Room Tip: superior rooms are better

“excellent”

Stayed in August 2011, modern spacious rooms with a balcony, paid extra for a superior. Great pool area. Service by all staff was very good. What you need to know about Bol is that most of the hotels are between town and Zlatni Rat Beach. Its a pleasant walk of around 15 minutes to either. There is a paved walkway all the way to either, and at nights there are stalls selling local products and souveniers, so it makes for a pleasant leisurely stroll. As mentioned Zlatni Rat is about 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel, but there is a beautiful beach right opposite the hotel down some stairs, so know need to go far.

Room Tip: Get a superior room with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea

“Old room, but nice resort.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I think we were in the older wing, which I would say is barely average. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny, but the overall hotel was very good for the price.

Pros: Great amenities (pool, gym, bowling alley, club), nice location 10 minute walk to picturesque Bol beach and hotel is right on the promenade which was a 15 minute walk into town. Fair price and good breakfast.

Cons: Dated room, a/c was weak and poor bathroom design.

I would recommend if you're on a budget and will spend most of your time outside of your room.

“Great hotel full of facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Stayed here for 5 days in September. A really fabulous hotel with lots and lots of facilities in a great location. It has an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, fitness classes, bowling alley, restaurants, etc. The rooms are really nice, and full of toiletries and bathrobes. Hotel are great about giving towels for pool, beach, etc. Staff were always nice and courteous. It's a 10 minute lovely walk into the town (go there, don't just stay in the hotel cos it's so lovely) and a 5 minute walk to the Zlatni Rat beach (definitely go there, and don't just lounge by the hotel pool).

My only criticism, were I to have one, would be that it lacks a bit of atmosphere, but that's probably to do with the average age and type of guests than the hotel itself. When we were there the hotel was full to capacity (500 people), but given the time of year, most of these were retired people on all-inclusive packages, who hurry en masse down to the dining room at 7pm on the dot, and were nowhere to be seen after bedtime (about 10pm). The 2 bars are a bit dead and boring, and then nightclub is non-existent. Still, it encourages you to go into the town which is really beautiful and has some good places to go, and great food.

The breakfast bar is amazing by the way, so much food, such a great selection!! We ate in the dining room one night, and while the food was delicious, the loudness and rushing and craziness has definitely put me off all-inclusive til I'm very old!!

The outdoor pool is lovely, but the beach is so near and so pretty, and has such a great breeze it's a shame to use it, plus there's the usual old people hogging all the seats and then leaving for the day!! The indoor pool was great to have on the rainy day. Oh, and free internet downstairs is a huge bonus.

The fitness classes are great (very hot instructor too!!), and the spa treatments completely amazing. We got a voucher for a free tennis lesson too, but am ashamed to say we didn't use it.

Would highly recommend this hotel!!

Room Tip: Block D was great. Don't think there's any advantage to getting sea view room as there's...

“Lovely hotel & pool”

One of three Blue Sun hotels next to each other. Really amazing hotel. We had a hill view which was fine given the sea view is quite blocked with trees! Large, clean rooms with fresh towels given daily. Massive reception & lounge area & free internet cafe which came in handy. Great outdoor & indoor pool in the spa was good (especially when it rained!) Reception staff really helpful & all spoke fluent English & German. About a 10-15 walk into the town with all the restaurants & bars but close to the famous Bol Beach. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
