I read all the Chinese reviews and I was so impressed that I canceled my reservation at a famous hotel and booked into this one. This was a huge mistake that nearly spoiled my entire holiday. I learned my lesson. Never trust any of the reviews written in Chinese. I suspect that all the good reviews were written by the hotel staff to promote themselves. None of the reviews were true. One review wrote that it is a 5 star hotel, and another reviewer wrote that the room is luxurious, they are obviously telling lies.

The hotel lobby is very impressive and can easily pass for a 5 star hotel. However, the quality of the furniture in the room is so poor, it is at most 1 star. I felt like I was staying in a cheap hostel. I was very shocked that the main door to the room does not even lock properly. From the moment I entered the room, my eyes/throat/nose all started to feel very uncomfortable because it was very dusty.

The worst part was that there was no air conditioning. When I complained to the front desk the staff told me that they do not normally turn on the central air conditioning during this period of time, but they would make an exception and turn it on for me. I still could not feel any air conditioning in the room. The staff then offered to move me to another room. That was about 11pm at night and my 2 young kids were already in bed, so I refused. It was so hot and stuffy, I had no choice but to open the window. I felt very uncomfortable doing so because we were on the 12th floor and there were no window grill, and my younger boy loves to climb around.

The next morning, I checked out and moved to another hotel.

I advise everyone to avoid this hotel.
