This hotel purposely overbooks. We booked our double queen room a month in advance and called the day before to confirm our room was still what we asked. After the four adults in our party lugged our things to our room(after a long, hot day, I might add), we found that they gave us a king bed, a cot and a 'sofa bed' built for a child. This will just not do for four adults, one of whom is nearly six feet tall. The person that slept on the sofa bed had to sleep sideways!

The manager eventually comped our room, so we are grateful for that, but I do think it is a very bad policy to purposely overbook on a weekend. I overheard another guest say they were supposed to get a handicapped room, but were unable to due to the overbooking. That is uncalled for.

I felt like our front desk worker did her best, but that she had not been properly trained to handle all the situations that came up while we were staying at this property. She was also all alone overnight with no visible security, which is a big safety problem.

I really like to try to find a positive in any situation, and I will say that the new countertops in the bathrooms and the kitchenettes were very nice. It is in a good location on 280 in Birmingham.

Wow! This hotel has been a favorite of ours in B'ham but it is really showing wear and tear almost everywhere. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the property has really aged rapidly. It's probably time for a refurb.

My wife was assualted in the laundry area, and the manager would not even come in to handle the situation. He said he was preoccupied to come in while the police were at his property.

The entire staff show a lack of concern,and we were able to determine that she was not the only one that the other guest had cornered.

We had several sport teams with under age girls at the hotel and none of the staff or management seemed to care for their safety.
