“Our favorite Birmingham hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We wouldn't stay anyplace else in Birmingham and it's worth a trip just to go there. This resort is beautiful. The amenities are wonderful, the rooms are lovely, the pools (both indoor and out) and great, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is excellent. A great find! One more thing... the golf is worth the trip. I haven't been to the spa yet, but I'm sure I would not be disappointed.

Room Tip: We prefer rooms overlooking the pool. You can sit on the balcony and enjoy the pool and golf course...

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I stayed at this hotel to treat my boyfriend and he was more than pleased. The check-in was expedient and pleasant. The staff on duty was professional and social. I was a late arrival so it was pleasing to be welcomed with cheer in the later hours of the night. After he arrived (I did a mini scavenger hunt...lol), we ate at the casual restaurant that was open. The menu had a wonderful selection to choose from. The food was very appetizing and also visually impressive. The servers were professional and knowledgeable about the menu as well. I attended a wedding reception at this hotel a couple years ago and really hoping that the food was just as good as the food then. It was. I will stay at the hotel again however, I will request a better room with a better view. The hotel was not filled to capacity and I had a view of an empty side parking lot. That is the only thing that keeps them from a perfect score. The room was clean. Decor was impeccable. The balcony was a nice touch and had enough room to actually enjoy lounging, sitting and standing. In the future, I would like to visit the spa as well. I have several friends that have gone and says that it is divine. We'll see....in the meantime, I will continue to travel and update you on FANTASTIC and not-so fantastic hotel and vacation stays.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the pool.

“Golf Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

If your playing the RTJ Trail, you can't beat this place. Early and late in the season they have great rates. The rooms are good and the showers great. The grounds are outstanding; a terrific jogging path right out the door, the elevators lead down to the Pro Shop at Ross Bridge and a second RTJ site (Oxmoor Valley) is only two miles away. The restaurant is pricey but the grill room is a nice spot to knock a cold one down after golf.

“Very beautiful property, standard rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

This place is quite majestic looking, but the rooms are relatively standard. If you have money, then you will definitely enjoy the spa and the golfing. Otherwise, you will be bored as everything else that is affordable is a drive away.

“Not impressed”

Stayed here on our wedding night and we were VERY disappointed. Considering the price we paid for the room, we received below average service. Would not let us check-in early which caused us to stand in line in our wedding attire at midnight to get checked in. Then once we got to our room we realized that they put us in a ground floor room right next to the hotel bar and main elevator. So our wedding night was filled with background noise of drunk people outside our room. We had booked our room 4 months in advance and told them when we booked the room that it was our wedding night..... I assumed they would attempt to assign us a room somewhere less central and more quiet. The next morning we called for room service and they would not provide us with room service so my new husband had get out of the bed & go get us food. Just very disappointed overall. Will never stay here again
