This suites hotel is typical of the genre. It is well-located, has big rooms, and is relatively clean (if you can overlook small things like hairs in the bathroom). The breakfast was good. However, there were a couple of downsides which will make this our one and only stay here. First, the walls and floors are thin not well-built. We could hear every move the people above us made as they walked, and sometimes jumped around their room at 11 p.m. at night. We called the front desk to complain on the second night of the excessive noise, and the staff member said she was going to move the party to another room. This did not happen. So, we were awakened by noise three nights in a row. The front desk offered to move us the 3rd night, but it is hardly something one wants to do on a late Christmas Eve. The second downside was the incessant playing of Fox News on a big screen TV in the breakfast and coffee room. It was particularly galling on Christmas morning to have the Fox News talking heads railing away about how America is about to collapse and the end is coming soon. Why not some non-political TV station, or more appropriately how about some Christmas music? Thus, for lack of sleep and a overly politicized breakfast room, we won't be back.

My wife and I stayed at the Homewood Suites at Inverness on a trip to Savannah this past August. We enjoyed our stay at their nice facilities so much that we stayed again on our return trip home. The rooms were spacious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar had a variety of items, but our favorite was the Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. It was difficult to find the hotel on our initial visit, but it is conveniently located for shopping and dining options. The rates were very reasonable. It was a good choice for us. We enjoyed out stay at HS on our trip through Birmingham.

Although currently living abroad, I often travel back to Birmingham to visit friends. I have stayed at many hotels in Birmingham, but my favorite by far has been Homewood Suites in Inverness. The manager, Gayle, does an excellent job at keeping this one of the top-ranking hotels in the area. The small business center enabled me to check my email & print my boarding passes & the full kitchen in each suite was perfect for preparing quick snacks and making my morning tea. The very friendly staff, clean/comfortable rooms, and huge/excellent breakfast buffet (the homemade belgium waffles are the best!) have continued to ensure the pleasure of my MANY stays at Homewood Suites.

Unfortunately, the rates of this hotel are no longer competitive with other comparable properties in Inverness. Perhaps this will change in the future. I will certainly miss staying at this very well-maintained hotel!

my credit card was abuse by the billing department. Daily hits caused me to exceed my limit. the rooms were small and dark. Housekeeping was awlful.
