Stayed at La Quinta with my family (wife & 4 kids) on Thursday night before a holiday. Hotel is right off the 65, which made it convient to wake up and slide right back onto the freeway ... quick 15 min drive to most of Birmingham.
Checked in a little late (2130-2200ish). Staff behind the desk was excellent. They even called my cell around 2030 (when we'd originally said we check in) just to make sure everything was ok and we weren't lost.
Price was pretty moderate, for the area. They offered a military discount of a couple of dollars. Came to about $59/night for a room with 2 double beds, before taxes.
Breakfast was fruit, begals, juice, cereal, and waffle batter plus maker.
Would stay again, and would recommend.

Stayed here on a return trip from our vacation in Galveston and used a coupon from welcome center booklet. We were pleased that they accepted it and gave us a great room for the $49.00 price. Front desk employee was very helpful and even came to my room to help me get my laptop connected to the internet. Not a strong signal but adequate for what I needed to do. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was weak but we did not plan on eating there as we like to have a sit down breakfast later in the morning after we had added more miles to our trip. Will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and will plan to stay here again if in the area.

...our family was going to stay here using a coupon from a book we got at the Alabama welcoming center. Although there were plenty of rooms available upon our arrival, we were informed that "no rooms were available at the $49.00 coupon price, but we could have a room for $79.00.

Since we had pride and dignity, we did not dignify them by accepting their "bait and switch" and moved on to a local Super 8.

Very dissapointed the La Quinta chain allows this type of thing....

it is a older hotel that could use some sprucing up. breakfast was so,so. not like most of the La Q's. good.over all valur
