Liuzhou is not a big city in China and don't expect international 5-star hotel here, at least in the year 2009. With this expectation, Liuzhou Hotel is already a good one. It is located close to Liu River and other business/ commercial areas.

The room is a standard size twin room, quite clean, with a fair city view. The only surprise is the free use of in-room desktop computer with internet access. But certainly, don't expect high speed.

The breakfast is fair with some choices. You may wish to try some local spicy noodles from the noodle bar. If you really need to stay in Liuzhou, this hotel is a reasonable choice.

If you want a large traditional hotel within easy reach of the city and park then this is where to stay in Liuzhou.

Although at themoment building work is being carried out to improve the property this is away from the grand central lobby and large traditional dining room. English is spoken and all staff are so kind and helpful.

Just down the road is the park where you can see China in all its traditional best. Singing, dancing, cards and mahjong all being enjoyed within small pagodas and flowers.

In main Liuzhou very little English is spoken and in a city of 1 million people I could not find a single postcard with a view to send home.
