Very pleasant rooms, good location, quiet at night so we slept very good, free wifi in the room (what a surprise!), comfortable balcony, everything in this small town (jetty, restaurants) is a short walk away. We enjoyed eating our breakfast outside on the small bridge that is part of the hotel. Also dinner here is good.

If you prefer complete isolation then it is recommended that you stay at one of the hotels in Inle Lake. A boat will take you to the hotel, a 30 or so minute ride, and once the boat leaves you are isolated from civilization. The hotels on the lake have ONE restaurant and your meal choices are from their menu only. Most guests staying in the lake complain of feeling trapped out in isolation. However, you can always enjoy a beautiful sunrise and sunset with your preferred travel partner.
If you prefer to have choices stay in NyaungShwe. Hotel Amazing is one of the nicest hotels in Nyaungshwe. It is very nicely designed; it is cute and comfortable. It is walking distance from several restaurants, fresh produce market, shops etc. Hotel Amazing also has a nice restaurant with a decent menu in international and Burmese cuisine.
You can make daily trips to Inle Lake for sightseeing and the hotel will make arrangements for your boat. Two trips to Inle Lake is more than enough to see all the attractions.
Nyaungshwe allows you to see real rural Myanmar, it's people and its untouched lifestyle. Tourism has not hit Nyaungshwe like Inle Lake, so it is still honest in it's way.
Hotel Amazing will also make arrangements for you to be picked up and dropped at the airport for a reasonable price.

Hotel Amazing is one of the best hotels in Nyaung Shwe, if not the best . Very good value for the price. Well located : in the middle of the center of Nyaung Shwe and only 10 minutes walk from the boat jetty .
Rooms are spacious , clean and do all have a large and beautifull bathroom, with a separate shower and bath tub.
The Suites upstairs are even more spacious , so are their bathrooms.
You have the choice of 4 different western and local breakfasts, which can be taken in or outside on the terrace .
From the decks at the rooms, you overlook the small canal and some temples in the neighbouring streets .
The staff was very helpfull in helping us making reservations in our next hotel . Always kind and hospitable.
I certainly would recommend this little hotel to anyone who is looking for rest and peace in a nice atmosphere.

We met folks who were staying in the lake hotels and the comment they often made was that they felt trapped out on the lake. The Hotel Amazing allows you to eat out locally and see the town and is only a short walk from the boats. There are plenty of great little restaurants in the food market around the corner. We ate in one offering Myanmar Specialities and it was fabulous - can't remember the name, but you can't miss it on a corner of the food market - lovely lady served us.

We were a lttle dissapointed with the hotel after seeing the web site. You will certainly not be greeted by ladies in traditional costume. Having said that it is clean and and the rooms are a good size. although somewhat lacking in charm - all a bit basic. It is a shame that they have decided to put carpet over what looked like teak flooring.

The hotel offers a choice of about 4 different breakfasts including Myanmar which was really good. Great place for watching the world go by.

Staff were really nice although as a previous reviewer mentioned - tiny girls came out for our luggage and refused any assistance - we felt quite gulty letting them carry heavy suitcases.

Just one downsize - they wanted to charge us for a bucket of ice for the room!
