Hotel Amazing is one of the best hotels in Nyaung Shwe, if not the best . Very good value for the price. Well located : in the middle of the center of Nyaung Shwe and only 10 minutes walk from the boat jetty .
Rooms are spacious , clean and do all have a large and beautifull bathroom, with a separate shower and bath tub.
The Suites upstairs are even more spacious , so are their bathrooms.
You have the choice of 4 different western and local breakfasts, which can be taken in or outside on the terrace .
From the decks at the rooms, you overlook the small canal and some temples in the neighbouring streets .
The staff was very helpfull in helping us making reservations in our next hotel . Always kind and hospitable.
I certainly would recommend this little hotel to anyone who is looking for rest and peace in a nice atmosphere.

We met folks who were staying in the lake hotels and the comment they often made was that they felt trapped out on the lake. The Hotel Amazing allows you to eat out locally and see the town and is only a short walk from the boats. There are plenty of great little restaurants in the food market around the corner. We ate in one offering Myanmar Specialities and it was fabulous - can't remember the name, but you can't miss it on a corner of the food market - lovely lady served us.

We were a lttle dissapointed with the hotel after seeing the web site. You will certainly not be greeted by ladies in traditional costume. Having said that it is clean and and the rooms are a good size. although somewhat lacking in charm - all a bit basic. It is a shame that they have decided to put carpet over what looked like teak flooring.

The hotel offers a choice of about 4 different breakfasts including Myanmar which was really good. Great place for watching the world go by.

Staff were really nice although as a previous reviewer mentioned - tiny girls came out for our luggage and refused any assistance - we felt quite gulty letting them carry heavy suitcases.

Just one downsize - they wanted to charge us for a bucket of ice for the room!

The room was really lovely and the location is very handy for the town and a 10 minute stroll from the boat jetty. We did have a bit of a pong in our bathroom and the breakfast was far from inspiring - we had to choose the night before and what we had was very "ordinary"

This hotel is a comfortable and clean place to rest. Compared with anything else in Nyuang Shwe it is easily the best. It may not be as swanky as some of the new resorts on Inle lake, but is good value and quite adequate. Friendly service, free internet (that works occasionally - just like anywhere else in Myanmar). We only ate breakfast in the hotel and the food was just OK - nothing flash but sufficient for a western breakfast. It's location is such that you can, if you wish, eat at other establishments within the town. We found one restaurant through the nightmarket that was very good.
