we stayed at this hotel over christmas 2011, the food was great, enough choce to suit everyone, well presented but not over hot, however, the local residents don't eat hot food so join in. Rooms were clean and spacious,with ample storeage space for everyone. The resort is small but has something for every one, cheap bars, good food pleasant people, no pressure to move on if you'r a non skier just taking in the views. The sking pair of my group had a great time the instructors were extreemly patient with my husband the 57 year old novice and my daughter an experienced skier was pushed to develop in the intermediate section. We booked with CRYSTAL what can I say about the Reps except WHAT A GREAT TEAM, nothing too much trouble, excellent local knowledge and available whenever, also out there on the slopes with guests. Bring on next year.

My boyfriend and I booked here for a week in March, the snow and the slopes were great for first timers such as ourselves. The resort is cheap and there is a mix of posh and rough bars & restaurants.
The Flora was an OK choice, the rooms were very smoky, the bathroom wasn't exactly great - we had a shower with half a shower curtain so every time you showered the bathroom flooded!
The food was typically Bulgarian, served luke warm. The food would vary depending what time you went for dinner as a few couples from our boarding group staying in the same hotel would have something completely different to us.
Breakfast was typically European but had a microwave so you could warm your food up if you wanted.
The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the slopes which wasn't to far.

We had a great instructor, sevillen, he was great!! If you get him you know your in for a great week of boarding/skiing!

Considering some of the reviews I read on here before going I tried not to have high expectations for the hotel or the area. However, I feel many of the comments were unfair as we experienced a fantastic holiday.
We had an apartment in the Hotel Flora which was spacious, clean and quiet. The only negative was the beds weren't very comforatable especially the kids squeaky sofa bed.
The food was fine, not fantastic but there was always something to eat even for the fussiest members of our party. Eating out in the resort is not too expensive if you wish to - slightly higher prices at the top of the mountain but thats to be expected.
Half of our group took the ski school option as we were beginners and our time was made even more enjoyable by having a fantastic friendly ski instructor. Sometimes the queues were long for the gondola and drag lifts but it was half term week so I guess it was probably their busiest week.
All in all we had a great time and I would definitely recommend both Hotel Flora and Borovets to anyone considering Bulgaria for a ski holiday.

Just returned from a fantastic weeks skiin and boardin in Borovets. hotel Flora was great , massive appartment , clean and very quiet . Stayed BnB and there was something to eat even for picky teenagers !!!!!! . snow was fab and no queues apart from saturday but you excpect that !!!!Ate out in the evening , had some lovely food in Black Tiger , Happy Duck and Revolution . Boardin park was open and is really good but only small , but it has only just opened !!! . Staff in hotel were very helpful even though they don,t speak any English but hey i dont speak any Bulgarian but could get everything we needed . Clean towels every day and room cleaned every day . After reading reviews about theft was a bit cautious but had i pods ps2 in room n had no probs !!!! I would def go back to the hotel and Borovets is great for a budget ski/boarding holiday !!!!!
