If you think about staying at this awful place, I strongly recommend you to reconsider your plans. I've payed 210,00 reais per night at room #01, but I should had payed no more than 70,00 reais!
Even if you don't find another place to stay in at Sao Paulo, please try to reschedule your trip, try to find another place in another location, anything to avoid this place!

My wife and I spent two nights at Zilah last week. Here are the problems we were faced with (see the photos!):

1) The king-sized bed was actually two single-sized mattress united by a strip of cord. It was terrible if somehow one slept just over interface between the two mattress;
2) The mattress were too hard and the pillows too floppy;
3) The decoration of the room was pathetic;
4) There was a leakage on the sink syphon, which I suppose was the cause of the horrible stink that constantly polluted the ambient;
5) It is attached a massive weight to the room's key, so that one will never lose it (that's ridiculous!);
6) The feeling that the bathroom and the room hadn't been properly cleaned was a constant during our stay;
7) The room is in a bad-maintenance condition;
8) The room is noisy.

I feel like if I had been stolen! I spent 420,00 reais at this barn.

I spent my first night in Brazil here, and it was a good choice for that purpose. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly and spoke pretty reasonable English (my Portuguese was rusty and my jetlag extreme!). The location is great and the neighbourhood feels fairly safe to wander about in. Avenida Paulista is about 5-10 minutes walk. It did exactly what I needed it to.

We spent our last night in brazil here and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. one member of staff spoke good english and was very nice. The house is fine, very clean we were in a corn room which was quite big, the bathroom is a little on the tight side but with a very good shower. no aircon but the fan worked well. The room was noisy you could hear a lot of street noise right through the night, so maybe a room at the back of the house would be a bit better. Breakfast was very good great choice of nice food. we also had dinner in here as it was pouring with rain and we were glad that we did as the food was nice. area is one of the better ones in sao Paulo with lots of shops and cafes nearby. we got a taxi to the airport and it cost 90 reals and took about one hour.

Downstairs it is nice and cosy, but the room are less than spartan, doors and windows do not close,squallid bathrooms, the area is good but the location is just at the corner of a by-way, the room we stood in (number 5) was practically in the traffic ant the noise made it impossible to sleep, the girl at the reception was of no help, the price (180 reais a day, 100 dollars) is absurd in comparison to quality. We planned to stay 5 nights but we got away after the first one.
