When I arrived at the Lorena Hotel it was clear that I had made a bad choice. It was difficult to find a room when I was looking, and somehow I ended up at the Lorena Hotel website. Well, there rates were very reasonable (about $60) and the photos on their website made it look like it would be a clean, basic place to stay in a nice neighborhood. The only thing that was true was that the location was good. When I got to the hotel, it was clear that it was rundown and dirty. . Before handing over my credit card, I asked to see my room. My standards are not terribly high, but this was just too dirty and dingy for me. I ended up going to another hotel and paying an extra $25 per night, which was more than worth it to not be stuck here. I’d rather stay in a sketchier neighborhood than in this place!
