I have stayed quite a few times at this hotel in the last couple of years and have never had a bad experience. It's in a quiet residential area and is safe. The front desk staff is stellar and without exception speak English (even though I speak Portuguese and don't need it).
The rooms are clean and have any amenity you might need for a long stay: kitchenette with dishwasher, toaster, fridge, microwave, dishes, etc., good work desk with Internet connection, desk lamp, decent chair, separate bedroom (small, but serviceable), decent bathroom with tub/shower. Nice balcony with views from almost all sides.
Overall, I choose this over the Renaissance, even though I would be getting full Marriott night credits there (this one gives one night per 3 as a long-stay property). Everyone gets treated like Platinum there anyway, so it don't seem to matter.
