This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, but then I am very picky.
It is located in a neighborhood that used to be good but that went downhill over the last 10-15 years.
The hotel itself is very old, apart from a few cosmetic fixes, mostly in the lobby area.
The rooms are terrible and pretty dirty. The AC is prehistoric and noisy, and does not double as a heater (it can get very cold in Sao Paulo). The telephone system dates back to Alexander Bell and is almost unusable, there is an Internet connection in each room, although it is extremely slow.
Like everywhere else in Sao Paulo it is almost impossible to watch TV because the signal is so bad.
Apart from breakfast, which was OK, I have not tried the restaurant or room service, so I cannot comment on those.
The staff is actually quite friendly, except for the reservation office and the receptionists, who are totally incompetent.
Finding an hotel in Sao Paulo is a real problem, it seems that there are just two choices: overpriced hotels and bad ones. Luckily one can avoid ever going to Sao Paulo, except on business.
