“Overpriced hotel far from downtown”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

I stayed in this hotel for a week. The rooms are small and long mile walk to reach them. The location is far from main city and my hosts were in terrible mess dropping and receiving me from this hotel as it took over hour and sometime more than 2 in peak hours just to reach to it. There is nothing nearby this hotel and when I walked out for a stroll I was warned of getting robbed or even knifed f I ventured a block away or so. Surprisingly there was a lady gaga concert happening just 2 blocks from the hotel but the police presence was like a fortification in the night. The daily room price was more than I would pay approx US$300 per night and food was too poor with no variety and expensive. But since there is nothing outside you are stuck. Unless you move to city by spending about RIAL 60-80 one way, to reach downtown, you cannot expect decent food and costs. Sao Paulo is not safest of cities and you dont want to go into subway or buses on your short stays. The hotel room had a home like split Aircon fitted on a wooden wall panel which was about 5 feet from ground. It made all hell of a noise. Overall it looks like they took over some abandoned old hospital and converted into a hotel. The lobby is so so, except one or two all the staff doesnot speak English, hotel mostly caters to exhibitors who come and display their goods in the small convention fair ground they have outside the hotel. There are no gardens or pools that I know of. For the price of it it is definately not worth. I was shocked to find premium hotels in chick downtown offering world class rooms at same price. Not popular with locals.

“Convenient lodging for those going to the trade shows in Sao Paulo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

The hotel is next door to the Parue Anhembi in Sao Paulo. A very short walk (under roof) and you are in the trade show area. Perfect is that is what you are in SP for.
This is pretty much Holiday Inn standard - efficient but no luxury.
There is good security around the hotel. You will be required to use your room card in the elevator, and it will only take you to the floor where you are staying. The card also switches on lights and air conditioning in your room. On a hot sunny day, your room will be hot when you arrive and it will take hours to cool down. The windows don't open.
There is free wi-fi in the entire hotel at very low speed. For somehow better speed, there are different fees.
During big trade shows, traffic to the hotel and check-in are very slow.

Room Tip: Good views and less of traffic noise in the upper floors.

“One low-quality box”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

The hotel is quite far from the airport (around 90 minutes in rush hour). At arrival it really looks like a big box. Reception area is quite large and connects to the breakfast room and to a small restaurant. The rooms are not so big but in general acceptable. Price is fair, but nothing that makes the hotel to be remembered. Service level in general is low and not special attention to customers, in particular the elite one.

“Be careful checking out!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

My husband and I were there for a medical meeting. That's the only reason you would have to stay at that hotel. The location is bad, away from all Sao Paulo atractions, no places to eat nearby. There are a lot of rooms, but a few elevators and you have to be prepared to stay long wainting for an empty elevator to come... Well, but that's not the worst part... I had our reservation made at the site of the hotel - and presented the e-mail they send me with the confirmation number when we arrived there... But at the check out they charged me a higher rate and charged for the breakfast - that was supposed to be included at the rate... the problem was that at the check out I was not with the printed paper anymore (cause I gave them when checking in!)... They only changed the rate and give up chargin for the breakfast when my husband started to argue and I found a copy of the e-mail in my iPhone (Thank god I have it!). Well, I would end this saying: just stay there if you are in a conference in Anhembi and PAY ATENTION AT YOUR BILL WHEN CHECKING OUT!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in a lower level (there are a few elevators for all the hotel and allways busy), so y...

“Good except the people cooking eggs at breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

I don't know what the bad reviews were all about.
The hotel has either improved a lot, or I was really lucky,

Beds are fine, bathroom small but clean (no tub), room is clean.
The minibar is expensive but all minibars are. The staff and front desk, the shuttle drivers, the breakfast staff were all great and all trainees (except the driverS). The only people that were rude and completely inefficient were the lady and man who were cooking the eggs are breakfast. When there is a 20 minute line for eggs, you should probably both be working instead of one person chatting with the other, while people stand there waiting.

Another thing: the luggage storage is not free. It's 12reals a piece.
The hotel tells you Taxi to GRU airport is 95reals but our taxi charged us 130.
The taxi TO the hotel from the airport was 88reals.
