As a crew member for a mayor airline, we stay at different hotels around the world, I would say my stay at the Maksoud was just wonderful. All the personal try to make your stay an enjoyable one with out any effort. Had a corner room it was spacious and clean, furniture hasn't been changed for some time but have to stay they are very well kept, internet worked just fine in my room and common areas.
Overall this was a relaxing stay in Sao Paulo, looking forward to my next stay at the Maksoud Plaza Hotel.

The people who reviewed this hotel and called it dated have missed the point. Indeed this hotel looks like something out of the 50's but that is completely on purpose and absolutely charming. I was afraid to stay here having had a bad experience in SP before with a lastminute hotel. However i have to say that this hotel is truly a delight. The large entrance area (with Chili con carne in the restaurant !) is beautifully done, the room as exceptional quality and the service really is fom yester-year when they knew how to do it right. For a five star hotel it is also exceptionally well priced. The only small complaint I would make was the plastic knife and fork in the outside restaurant. I will be back, and often

As a airline crew member I experience many hotels around the world. Some better than others, Although I agree the Maksoud Plaza could use a few upgrades like having coffee makers in room. I was delighted with this place, from the moment I walked in the entire staff was very prompt and attentive, smiles at every corner. The location is excelent! and though some reviews call it "dated" I found it charming and extremley clean! Im looking foward to mt next stay here...

This location is the best, convenient to the business center of Sao Paulo.....only one block away.The staff here could not be nicer. Every employee I encountered had a nice command of the English language, which can not be said for other similarly nice hotels in the city. I know because I visit Sao Paulo on business 3 to 4 times a month.

I had a room on the 8th floor for this most recent visit. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable and they provide feather pillows which were very nice.
The air conditioning worked well and the water pressure in the shower was terrific. The elevators were quick and readily available. The only meal I had was the buffet breakfast and it was very good. The pool and gym look nice although I did not use them this visit.

An added bonus was the internet connection...excellent.....it was the fastest of any of the hotels I have ever stayed at in Sao Paulo.......I have stayed at the Renaissance, Pullman, Caesar Business, and Holiday Inn Hotels.

Next time you visit Sao Paulo check out this hotel.......you will like it.
