I stayed at the hotel for a week on a business trip because the office I was visiting was nearby. Its in the Berrini area and near Brooklin about 5km south west of the Avenue Paulista.
The hotel is about 25 stories high and built around a central atrium, I would say that its about 20 years ago and slightly showing its age but its clean and bright. My room was large and actually a suite with separate bedroom and living areas. It was newly furnished in simple furniture (think Ikea) and comfortable. It had a good, well lit desk. The shower was fantastic.
There is a gym and pool on the roof that is open from 6am to 10pm (6pm on weekend). Both are small and basic but OK. The pool is complementary but there is a charge for the gym.
Breakfast was simple and adequate without being noteworthy, dinner in the hotel restaurant was good.
Overall its a decent hotel but don't expect international luxury. When I stayed most of the guests were on coach trips or attending a convention. There were a few international businessmen but it was mainly domestic commercial travellers staying there. The nearest international alternatives would be the Hilton or Grand Hyatt, but they are in Booklin rather than Berrini.
There are a few local bars and mainly lunchtime restaurants near the hotel but nothing that you would travel for. There are no particular tourist areas nearby so its a 20min taxi ride to Jardins or Itaim Bibi for more interesting shops or nightlife.
