“Excellence in Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Excellence in service is when your needs are anticipated and are fullfilled without a need to ask or argue. I recently stayed at the Tryp Paulista. This was not the hotel we had booked. We were fleeing our reserved hotel and Juliana at registration not only found us a room each but had it cleaned and ready before check in since she new we had not slept all night as a result of the hotel we orginally had reservations. The staff was very helpful and met our needs. When I was checking out. though I had booked a whole day. since my flight was at 11:30pm, the front desk manager at the time asked why I was checking out early and when I told him he adjusted the amount due by charging me for late check-out with out me asking or expecting any adjustement. It is an awesome location.

“Overpriced!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

I stayed here with two colleagues during a recent business trip to Brazil. The hotel is in a good, quite location but it is way over priced. It seems that there was a large conference is this part of town and everywhere was full, so the hotel took advantage and jacked its prices up to US$250 per person per night. I have no problem paying those sorts of prices (or more) for a luxury weekend retreat but for a bog-standard business class hotel?! To add insult to injury, the hotel added a BRL 15.00 tip (BRL 5.00 per night) to each of our bills as a "tip" for the waiters at breakfast (everything is self service including the coffee), a BRL 6.60 (BRL 2.20 per night) "donation" to the Brazilian tourist authority and two other donations to UNICEF and WWF. We asked for everything other than the donations to UNICEF and WWF to be removed and I would suggest other travelers to do the same in order to discourage this unacceptable practice.

NB: I stayed here 19 - 22 October 2011.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Good and clean hotel, a couple of blocks from Av Paulista and Jardins. You can't beat the location.
Just a few steps from Bela Paulista bakery (excellent, 24/7).

“Good location and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2011

Arrived late night and the front desk was efficient which is a relief especially on a hectic business trip. Room was spacious although I was disappointed to get a twin bed despite requesting for a double bed at the time of booking online. Very comfortable bed and got some good sleep. Large window. Air conditioning wasn't that effective but I suppose I could have kept the temp really low. Bathroom had good toiletries including a dental kit and shoe polish which was unusual. Most surprising was to get bathroom slippers. Could definitely do with some more charging points. Bfast was ok and not much for a vegetarian unless ur ok having breads n cakes. The gym was small and the pool more like a puddle so wouldn't plan around that.

“Great location in Sao Paulo, and a nice hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2010

My fiancee & I arrived at Sao Paulo and immediately arrived at this hotel. We arrived at 10am, so they were able to get us in for early check-in around noon. The service was great, the front desk spoke very good English. Our room was very clean, and a great size with a mini-fridge. We also used the hotel pool, which was indoor and had a sauna. The pool wasn't too big, but was very peaceful and obviously used very little by the hotel guests. Also, the hotel was able to store our luggage for us after check-out so we could continue to see the city.
The location of the hotel is another big plus - it is right off of Avenida Paulista (3 minute walk) as well as by one of the main metro lines. There is lots to do in the area within walking distance, including MASP (about a 15-20 minute walk) which has the Antiques Market on Sunday mornings. As for food, I would suggest the Bella Paulista, which is a place between the Tryp and Avenida Paulista. We went there one night to get bread and cold cuts, since we were tired and did not go out for a formal dinner. It is a great place to get food to make lunches, ect.
Overall a great experience, a comfortable room and great night's sleep. Would definitely recommend.
