The hotel is situated in a cozy upper-scale neighborhood with mixed residential and commercial buildings. Buenos Aires park is a couple blocks away (very nice), grocery shopping and several botique shops. Many of the guests were business travelers.
Staff: Generally friendly, and accomodating to my lack of Portguesse. A male check-in agent was paricularly friendly, and we shared different stories during my stay, as he was excited to build his english skills while helping me navigate the local area.
Room: I had a standard room on the 21st floor. Bed was very comfortable and included a pillow menu (you choose your favorite types). I enjoyed 6 different pillows each night!
The radio next to the bed lacked reception; unfortunate because I wanted to hear some local music while in the room working. Flat screen TV is wall mounted and not particularly at an angle agreeable to someone laying in bed.
Bathroom ammenities were provided daily, and the rooms were cleaned to expectations. Turn down service and a chocolate were provided as well. Internet was offered as two types: free (slow) not free (fast). I used the slow and had no difficulties using email and viewing a few pictures.
It is important to note that the walls to the rooms are somewhat thin. I was able to hear others in the hall and adjancent rooms, at times. Also, the doors to the rooms close pretty hard, so one always knows when the neighbor is coming or going...day or night.
Fitness Center: Very depressing, unfortunate and overall pathetic. Such a nice hotel only to be cheapened by haphazard selections of old equiptment, some of which didn't even function properly. The hotel is better of shutting this room off rather than risk liability of old, broken equiptment. Bottom line, if fitness is important to you, ask about other nearby options.
Pool: Looked very inviting, along with the accomanying lounge chairs, but it wasn't particularly warm during my stay to enjoy it.
Food: Restaurant on site. Breakfast, unlike many other hotels here, was not included. R$25, which provides a variety of warm and cold eats, including cheeses, meats and fruits. It was decent, but nothing to crave for, such the caase at other hotel buffets. Room service was speedy and quality of dinner was good.
