Tulip Inn is located about 5 min walk from Paulista. Around the hotel there are a few Italian restarunts, some of them actually have a quite tasty food. There is no ATM in or near the hotel.
The room wasn't cleaned well when I arrived, it was quite damaged anyway.
When we paid by credit card, we wanted to get a receipt with our company name on, which proved to be a huge problem to a non-English speaking staff.
Tulip Inn was too expensive for what it offered

After calling from the UK I was told there were 21 double rooms available at $125 per night for my two night stay. When I arrived at the hotel I was told they only had twin rooms for just the one night at $200. I left the hotel and checked the online booking system. There were double rooms for the two nights showing as available so I called the hotel. I was told yes there were rooms but only twins. I informed the gentleman that I was told there were only rooms for the one night, he informed me the hotel staff were wrong and that he could book the room for $250 per night.

I stayed somewhere else........

Don't waste your time as you will not know what your reservation is until you get to your room, if they have one nor what price you will pay until they think one up for you.

We stayed one night, arriving in Sao Paulo late and due to leave early the next morning, and booked via a discount late bookings website which made it good value.
The room was tired and uninspiring but it did have a good size wardrobe (not that we used it), a kitchenette, a/c and clean ensuite. Breakfast the next morning was great. The area (Jardins) seemed nice, not that we had time to explore it.

Was hesitant booking this room since it didn't have a lot of reviews - but was pleasantly surprised.

The area (Jardins Paulista) is very safe even at night - although i don't recommend going for a walk in SP when it's dark out.

It is located next to a cute little grocery store and next to an AMAZING bakery where i had breakfast every morning and an even more amazing pizzeria - a must go.

The staff - especially at the restaurant was very friendly. I only had sandwiches there but they were very good & service was quick.

Front desk staff could learn to smile a bit more and barely spoke english (which isn't uncommon in SP). Free internet in the rooms was also a nice touch. The hotel has a very cool rooftop terrace which is perfect to take photos of the city.

For the negative - i found tiny ants in the bathroom, you could barely see them. I informed the front desk staff and they sent someone to clean the bathroom with bleach which really didnt do anything.

The bed sheets and pillows I was first provided with looked and felt old. I had them replaced which didn't seem like a problem.

Overall, this hotel offers very good value in one of the best, more central areas of Sao Paulo. I will book this hotel again if I ever return to SP.
