I can not say bad hotel. Rooms are very large with balcony and every facility in it. Yes, carpets are dirty in corridors but not in the room. But the discounted corporate rate was 185$ which is very expensive when I compare with service. If the room rate was 120-130$/ night, I could say very good hotel. Stuff was very helpfull but someone must say them to smile. When I talk to them, even I smiled but they are not smiling at all. This is service bussiness, I like to see smiling face in the morning at least.

After reading some of the reviews here on tripadvisor, I was not expecting much as some reviews were very negative. Coming in early in the morning, I initially got a room on the front side - facing Paulista ave, but remembering the reviews, I asked for a change to the back side, which the friendly staff accomplished with a smile. As far as checking in early - no problem.
The rooms were not gigantic, but large enough by far for my need. The room was clean and the bed was great with plenty of pillows.
Unlike another reviewer, I managed to find my way to the gym, which is on the second floor over the reception. It was averagely equipped with free weights and several cardiovascular machines.
Being on a business trip and attending a seminar at the hotel, I had the privilege of eating breakfasts and lunches at the hotel, and the food was absolutely first class.
The only drawback I found at the hotel was the Internet service, which I found to be expensive and a bit unstable. However, any issues with the service was swiftly handled by the hotel employees.
Overall, I had a great stay at the Golden Tulip Paulista.

It has a great location, but that's about it.
It was not clean and the service was not good.
Internet access is difficult to get. There is no gym. I woke up with bug bites all over my legs.
For the price of this hotel, you can find several other hotels in the area that are better. Or for a little more money, you can find some fantastic hotels.

Great staff, very helpful. Internet is not included and expensive. In this day internet should be included in every business hotel. NO IRON, I had to pay to get my shirts pressed. Big negative...
Paulista ave is one block away, and shops and restaurants are a few feet away. The carpets were gross, my white socks were black after walking around a few minutes. Loud construction going on nearby. The beds are way too hard.
