“Good by international standards, just ok by US standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

This hotel is in a good location, i walked around even at night and felt safe. There are many restaurants, bars and shopping places around. Everything is very expensive in this area though. The hotel is expensive as well, internet is like $20 a day, exercise room and pool are small and on the roof, which has a great view. I think next time i would try to stay at the Hilton or one of the other US chains.

“Need need to to ask ask everything everything twice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

The hotel is at a good location if you need to visit a business in Vila Olimpia or around Faria Lima, right at the corner of Juscelino and Faria Lima. Price for internet use seemed to be excessive ... and calls to the front desk are only successful if you do it twice -- everything that I needed required two calls to the front desk to get it taken care of.
We tried to stay at the Renaissance or at the Hilton, but due to the Grand Prix the prices were outrageous and the rooms were few ... so, instead, we settled on this one. It was a comfortable stay, the breakfast was good ... but the overall stay was nothing to write home about.

“Decent Business Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

nothing exceptional, but I mean that in a good sense! Service is very very good, low visiblility, high impact. Hats off! breakfast is good, being a pianist I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the piano in the lobby, but then, where there are exceptional pianos, often they wouldn't let you play... The fitness room isn't a big thing, but it's on the top floor of this huge building, which is really nice.

“an overpriced Ibis”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

Ok, beds are bigger and there is swimming pool and sauna. But other than that, you're at an Ibis hotel, only twice the price. Bedroom and bathroom were exactly Ibis-sized. Furniture seemed old - the couch was stained and some pieces of wood were really worn out. The restaurant (Noah) is pricey, with very small portions: I paid US$ 25 for three or four ordinary shrimps and a few spoonfuls of rice. Staff was mostly rude. When I arrived, I had just faced a long flight delay and two hours of traffic, so all I wanted was to go to my room and rest. However, since it was my first time there, the lady at the front desk insisted that I answered a lot of personal questions in order to create my account. Besides, everytime you need to talk to somebody at the front-desk you have to wait (because they are always busy) and they don't care to organize a proper line, so it's usually messy. The worst part, however, was that when my father went there to pick me up he used the hotel's valet service and it took them almost 20 minutes to retrieve the car and all this time we had to wait (after having faced another messy line) outside, in the cold. Breakfast was worse and had fewer options than at Ibis - and, again, you have to face a messy line to get it. Telephone rates are absurd - I made a 9-minute local call and it cost me about US$ 22. Wi-fi connection is US$ 12 a day, which I find pricey too, specially given that it is a very slow connection.

To be fair, the hotel was clean and whenever I requested food in my room they were fast and the food was ok. I didn't use the sauna or the swimming pool, so I can't comment on those.

All in all, it is not a horrible hotel, but you can probably find something better nearby. I stayed there because I was attending a course that took place at the hotel, so despite all the problems, it was very convenient for me, for it allowed me to avoid the insane traffic of Sao Paulo. But if that is not your case, you'll probably want to find somewhere else to stay.

“great location, solid hotel for a good value short stay in Sao Paolo or Business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

I stayed at the Blue Tree on my last Business Trip to Sao Paolo and all I can say is that it is a solid mid range hotel. It has comfortable rooms with all necessary amenities. The location is very good. Service is average, restaurant/food is not bad. Overall no complaints and a good value. I would stay here again.
