The Hotel Mendez is the best choice for a Hotel in Santos. I have also stayed at other Hotels in the area and have found this place well above the others when it comes to service. The staff is very friendly and the morning breakfast service is great. The pool area is quite beautiful, and the mall downstairs, are both great attractions. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Santos. The only down side was that the internet was weak and not arranged very well in the rooms. (plug-in was behind bed instead of at desk area.

As soon as I got there a very friendly staff welcomed me. Front desk has an amaizing human touch and are excelent within hospitality. The rooms has this old fashionated style, and are in a very good condition. Food and Beverage team are great! very good food! Try the breakfast! Pool area are neat and close to the beach as well. Best option in the city! prices are reasonable and worth it. Event ballroom nice!

The Mendes Plaza is owned by the same company (Grupo Mendes) as the Parque Balneario (see my review of that property). Grupo Mendes also own the Mendes Panorama, and several shopping malls in Santos. Like the Parque Balneario, the Mendes Plaza is billed as a five star property, and like the Parque, it is not, however it is a better quality than the Parque, at a much more reasonable price. Location is good, in the Gonzaga neighborhood, about 2 blocks (5 - 6 minutes walk) from the beach. Rooms are in pretty good shape, older style furnishings, but in good condition, without stains on the carpets! Air Conditioning functions well, bathrooms, while dated, are functional. The restaurant serves an extensive buffet breakfast (included in the rate) which is excellent. Staff at the front desk are friendly and efficient. At rates just over half those charged by the Parque, for better quality accommodations, this would be my choice in Santos in the future.
