Stayed at this hotel to attend the annual Octoberfest that is held in Blumenau. Blumenau has one of the world's largest Octoberfest held outside Germany, or actually the largest in all of the America's (from what I read). The party is indeed huge, with three very large halls playing a mix of Octoberfest music (i.e. German Polka), mixed with Rock, Pop, and Brazilian music. There must have been at least 30K+ people there during any given night. Starts late - after 11:00pm, with the largest crowds gathering by midnight
It takes a short taxi ride from the hotel to get the festivities. I stayed two nights in the standard room on a high floor...unfortunately with the windows open there was alot of street noise, but with the windows closed and AC running it was quiet and comfortable. The rooms are a little dated, but comfortable. One my last night I stayed in a superior room, which was a small suite. Again a little dated - but rooms had comfortable king size beds and both types of rooms were good sized
Since I stayed at the Octoberfest until 5:00am in the morning, I missed the included breakfast so can't report on that.
The hotel has a restaurant, but otherwise dining options seem very limited in general in Blumenau. There is a mall within walking distance with a decent food court, where I ate each day.
Overall a decent 3 star hotel (by Brazilian standards a 4 star). Comfortable, free WIFI, and an attentive staff. Again, a good choice even just from the perspective that lodging options are limited....especially during Octoberfest.
