I really loved the feel of this smaller ski resort. The food was great at the steakhouse, people that worked here were very friendly, and they get tons of powder snow. Only complaint was we stayed at the lodge and it really really LOUD, and we are a young couple that normally doesn't mind, but for the price we paid we expected more relaxation. People were stomping about the second floor and stair ways at all hours, we are talking rolling their luggage up and down the stairs, stomping out their shoes, at 3-4 am, you can hear every move anyone makes in the lodge and apparently they were allowing people from a bus check in at this hour ...then the snow plow started plowing the parking lot at 4:30am , pushing the snow right to our room window beeping the whole time. We proabably would not stay at the lodge again, maybe one of the other on site locations are quiter.....
Another thing is the room was quite old and aging, bathroom wasn't that clean, etc.
We will try the ski resort again, but like I said no more Grand Targhee lodge for us.

Grand Targhee is a beautiful, quiet resort. We stayed for several nights prior to a beautiful wedding there. Our kids loved the activities at the resort. We swam every day, rode mountain bikes, rode the lift to the top for a spectacular view, and did the ropes course. We stayed in the Sioux Lodge in a loft suite with a kitchen. The Sioux Lodge is slated for remodeling this fall (2006), and definitely needed it. We were on the 4th floor (it doesn't have an elevator) but we had a nice loft with a queen bed so we felt separated from the bunk bed downstairs by the door. It has a small functional kitchen with a small fridge. It was a lot farther away from Jackson, WY that we thought. It probably took us about an hour to get there. We really enjoyed our stay there and found the staff to be very helpful and responsive.

While not upscale, Targhee provided a comfortable stay for our Elderhostel group. Friendly staff, reasonably good food and some neat hikes make this a good off-season spot. Some of the furniture and carpets are a bit worn but overall the place was clean. (A prior TripAdvisor review had me worried, but the stay was pleasant enough.)

Excellent value! This side of the Tetons is much less crowded than the Jackson Hole side. This resort was very clean, had especially happy staff, great food and beautiful rooms. We will be back.
