I got an all in price of R$110 a night. For this I got a large clean room with air-con, spotless en suite bathroom and a small veranda with a hammock. The breakfast was okay by Brazilian standards, not the widest variety of fruit, juices and breads but the staff are happy to whip up eggs and omelets on request.

The pousada itself is very clean (as you come to expect in Brazil), has a small pool, internet connection and is a quiet and relaxing place to hang out. The TV in the room had cable. The beach is all of two minutes walk away and along the beachfront you have all the bars, cafes and restaurants you need.

Tereze and João run the pousada and are a friendly helpful couple and speak English. From what I saw while there this is a great option for someone going to Ponta Negra, much cheaper than the hotels but still very comfortable and giving up little in terms of what's on offer. Highly recommend.

Don't be fooled by the glossy website! This Pousada is on a steep hill, and near some distinctly dodgy areas. Electrified wire fences are testament to that. The "sea view" is partly obscured by advertising hoardings. Some friends of ours had paid a deposit, but were told on arrival the room wasn't available, and were dumped at another Pousada. There are dozens of places to choose from in Natal, pousada castanheira is best avoided.
