This hotel is located in a reasonably good area - more targeted at the business traveller rather than tourists. For tourists I'd recommend heading down to Ponta Negra rather than the Areia Preta or Petropolis area. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk down to the beach and is walking distance for a good range of restaurants and bars.
The rooms are good - clean and spacious. The maid service works well.
The only downside is the breakfast and room service options. Unless you are desperate to eat in the hotel, opt for a restaurant close-by.
Overall, for the price this is a good, centrally located hotel.
