This is worse than a backpackers hostel, at least the hostel is cheap. The service is horrendous, staff has very poor command of English (or even their native Portuguese, as a matter of fact). The rooms are horrible. Don't even consider this place as an option.

This was my first trip to Natal, and I was very impressed by this hotel...Four days here in a clean, recently remodeled room facing the ocean? For the price I paid? Seriously...I was very happy.

The fitness center has a pretty good selection of cable machines and small dumbbells, as well as, if memory serves, a pool table and a poker table. 24 hours. The swimming pool was very classy (hard to define...it was unique) and clean. Plenty of parking, and a 24 hour guard to watch the lot.

Loved the restaurant...the morning chef makes great tapiocas to order, and they lay out a different selection of hot and cold foods every day. They even rotate the kinds of juice every day, which was cool. It was a great opportunity to try different local fruits, pastries/breads, and cooked dishes without going to a buffet.

Every interaction with the staff was great...they really tried hard to make it a good stay. I understand that this is a family-run joint, and it shows...the management and staff all interact like family...personally, I much prefer that to chain hotels, any day, warts and all.

The beach is amazing, clean and so secluded that it's almost semi-private, and the hotel keeps a nice little grassy lawn just above the sand line if you want to sunbathe without getting sand in your craw.

Lots of remodeling still going on...hell, even the guys laying bricks were friendly. Looking forward to returning in a few years to see the improvements.

Me and my husband stayed 4 days at the hotel, during the carnaval. The room are very old: the wall cabinets were to breake in to pieces. Must the worse was the horrible noise of the air conditioning. The price is to much expansive for the confot that the hotel offers to the guests.

I stayed for seven days at Vila do Mar with friends. The hotel is old and in need of reform, including the main lobby there are forbidden area. The room is large, however was dirty, the air conditioning was very noisy, the phone did not work, the Internet is a bit expensive ($ 20.00 per day), and in two days that I was there, was no hot water, and the quality of image of cable tv is really bad, but you don't go there to watch TV. The service quality at the hotel is bad, because everything that you need wait so long, for example, we had lunch at restaurant by three days, and I need wait more than one hour for the food. The service room for one hamburger took 2 hours, and 2 bottles of water, took almost 3 hours!!! Overall the employees work without motivation and do not question any of you serve well.
Be careful when sending confidential information of credit card for the Hotel, because the hotel does not have an insurance policy to save your data, I even had my credit card cloned by permission I sent over there direct to hotel.
That is, the hotel is not worth the prices it charges. The highlight of the hotel is to be on the beach in the Via Costeira, however, there are other better hotels / resorts than this.
