On-line Booking request for hotel submitted based on the price on web in May 2010. Their email response indicated that the could not honor the published rate, but offered me a rate considerably more expensive. I responded by instructing them to cancel the booking request, On May 13,2010, I received an email confirmation that the booking request was canceled. Please note that I never had or agreed to a confirmed reservation based on their "adjusted price"
2 1/2 months later, on 7/26/2010, I received .an email with a confirmed reservation for the inflated price. I immediately responded that this booking request had been canceled and attached supporting email from their reservations manager. Once again, I received an email confirming that the request had been canceled.
Unbelievably, on 01/07/11, a charge appeared on my AMEX card for this hotel. I was charged for a reservation that I did not confirm for an amount that I did not agree to. I have put this amount in dispute with AMEX. Fortunately, I retained all supporting email documentation. When I informed this merchant of my dispute, all of a sudden, I get another email advising me of their "mistake" with a promise to withdraw the fraudulent charges.
I do not trust this vendor. Fortunately, AMEX will handle. If you expect honesty, integrity, and competence, Do Not Use This Hotel!
