Never stay here. I live in SP but I m from Rio. My parents live close and I m know the place very well. I stayed here for a weekend and I ll NEVER come back. Service is terrible, and I m snob.

Satyed here on July 16th. At check-in everything was ok. Next worningwoke up with loud bangs. Construction on the floor above on a saturday morning without any notice. When I called to ask, was told nothing could be done.

That evening room had not been cleaned, When I called the reception was told... nothing could be done.

Service is just plain lousy and uncourteous.

BEWARE!

The hotel is an aparthotel but the rooms are large and clean and good value for Rio. Good breakfast is included. But the location is not ideal as it is a taxi ride from anywhere. The nearest restaurant recommended by the hotel is by the Windsor hotel 40 minutes walk away. It is opposite the beach but separated by a very busy and noisy road and as I was on business being by the beach was less important than a convenient location. doing any sight seeing on the one free day that I had required an expensive guided tour as the hotel was too far from anything of interest to go independently. The conference centre Rio Centro is a 20 minute at least taxi ride away and if several people need taxis you can wait quite a while. Apart from the little kiosks and a cafe at a petrol station there is nothing within walking distance. One big plus is free wifi in the rooms. If all you want is the beach then the hotel is good value, but if you want to see Rio go somewhere more central.

My husband and I stayed here from 12/04/2009 and 12/08/2009 for our trip to Rio de Janeiro.

I must admit that it doesn't look much from the outside but the interior was a pleasant surprise. It is in a fantastic location right in front of the less touristy beach. There's also a 24-hour kiosk across. The breakfast was simple yet sufficient and delicious. The staff was very cheerful, helpful and friendly. The hotel was also very near to the residence of our local tour guide so that was a great plus. There is also a shopping mall nearby. If you like a more tranquil vacation, I recommend that you stay here. But make sure that you have someone to drive you around to the tourist spots because they are a bit far.
