“Pretty good, but payed WiFi??”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Stayed 4 days in december. Spacious room with street view. AC worked ok with not too much noice. Mini bar on the room. Small CRT TV with cable.
Big and comfortable bathroom, clean towels, soap, shampoo, aconditioner and body cream.
The room had an electronic safe box you could use without paying extra (as it should be).
The breakfast was pretty good and things were refilled constantly until the very end of the breakfast time.
The staff was helpfull (not extremlly, but OK). The last day I had to leave before the starting time of the breakfast so I asked if they could give me something for breakfast, and it was not so easy to make them give me a Yogurt with a banana :/

The hotel had WiFi on rooms but it was payed!! some hotels in Brazil do it that way but there are many with free wifi or at least cable internet. Come on! now a days internet is a basic service why charge for it. On my next trip to Río I'll stay on Mar Ipanema or Windsor Martinique which have free internet.

november weekend in Rio. location OK, near beach. My room back of hotel (# 713), in poor shape, room and bathroom gloomy ... Other people in my party got better rooms : hotel should get all rooms up to standard !

Room Tip: ask for the ;# 10 oneach floor : much better room, with a nice view

“Perfect hotel for Copacabana!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Excellent location for beach, alot of local atmosphere around, direct buses to Lapa (bars discos district) and direct bus to Christ main location (then to go up, you have to use local operators)..

Staff is very nice, my room key didnt worked, so rang from the top floor, phone near lifts, lady apologized and said, I will send some up with the new key.. rather I was thinking have to go down again.. as in many big hotels aswell

Breakfast was nice, staff speak English and front desk will give you alot of information.

As a snack, you must try a juice bar which serves burgers etc and are delicious and excellent prices.. directions to go there, get out the hotel, take left at the main street, cross two blocks and its at the corner. Mango Milk Shake is to die for :)

“A Good Location for the Copacabana”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

My initial impression of the hotel was good. The lifts were in good working order and were quick and efficient. The reception and bar areas are pleasant and the restaurant quite impressive. I had one evening buffet and three breakfasts in the restaurant all of which I found to be very good.

The room that was allocated to me appeared to be perfectly adequate at first glance that is when the curtains were drawn to. When the curtains were pulled back I found that the view was entirely of a wall with a few windows. For the rest of my stay I just left the curtains drawn as, luckily, I didn't have to spend much time in my hotel room. In the shower room everything seemed to be in working order until I tried to adjust the wall mirror which then came off in my hand. On the plus side the fridge was not locked (unlike some hotels where it is not possible to unlock the fridge unless purchasing from the mini bar) and so I could keep cool any drinks and snacks that I needed.

So for anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel, in a convenient location for the Copacabana Beach, with a good enough room and not concerned about the view this is a good choice.

I was tempted to give four for this hotel as I understand it has a rooftop swimming pool and a gym but I did not try these facilities myself so I have given it a three on the basis of my own experience.

“Basic tourist class hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Rooms were good we were on 8th floor. Wireless provided free in most hotels was very expensive at aprox 10 Euro for 24 hours.
Staff in the bar had very little English and only for the help of a local we would not of been able to order. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Location on one end of Copacabana beach was good but it means if you want to travel to the far end you need either taxi bus or walk.
On checking out we were allowed access to the room till 2 pm so I decided to pay my bill to save time. On returning my keys at 2 pm I was told in front of other guest that I did not pay my bill after seeing my credit card receipt he accepted that the bill had been paid and only after a great deal of pushing did the clerk finally apolgise for the error.

We used the spa area to change before our flight home and was supprised at the dirt of the toilet and shower. Would have no great wish to revisit the hotel.
