Stayed here as part of Intrepid tour, well located hotel (we had a view from one of our windows out over Copacabana beach), clean and well sized rooms and cuboards but nothing flash. Internet access in lobby, but very slow. Overall it was a clean, basic hotel, good breakfast, good location.

I stayed at the Rio Roiss from June 27 until July 4, 2009. It is an older hotel but it served it's purpose with me. The beach is a block away. The subway is about 3 blocks away. The banks that would take international card at their atm's were also about 3 blocks away. Stores and restaurants were right around the corner.

I had no problem with anything being stolen and the day and afternoon personal were great. Didn't see the night crew too much so can tell you what they were like.

The breakfast was nothing great but nothing bad. I called the hotel direct and got the discounted rate of r$180.00 per night.

On my last day in Rio. I asked about late check out. The front desk guy let me stay in the room until 5:00 p.m., I had a late flight out.

Stayed with a tour group, Intrepid. Poor hotel, best avoided.

perfectly satisfactory three star hotel, nothing fancy but no complaints either. convenient location one block from copacabana (if i lent out the window i had a side on view of the beach) at the ipanema end. not too noisy, pretty good breakfast
