The hotel staff is great and very helpful. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean, if slightly dated. Breakfast is fabulous, and the view of Copacabana beach from the top-floor breakfast room is even better. Great location, reasonable prices--I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed here by myself for a few days before starting an Intrepid tour. No real complaints about the Rio Roiss. My room was clean, and the hotel is well located in Copacabana with supermarkets and plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Best of all, the hotel is a block from the beach, with a good view from the dining room (not so much of a view from the rooms).

Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast buffet in the morning had a nice selection of fruit, breads and cakes.

Room had a safe, TV had excellent selection of channels, and the flow of water from the showers was pretty powerful.

Only complaint for me was my air conditioning sounded like a rusty chainsaw. I was staying in the rainy season, so I didn't find myself needing it too much at night.

Internet is available in the lobby only, however I was able to get Wi-Fi from the hotel next door from my room.

The staff cannot speak any English at all. I don' know what it is with Brazil but this is not uncommon here. If you need any help you are on your own. You can pay to get a safety deposit box in the room (it is not included). The hotel is one block from the beach Copacabana. There are also cheap internet places and everything you need within a short walk. The area like all of Copacabana is a bit sketchy. If you want safety go to Ipanema or LeBlon. The rooms are spacious and comfy but a bit dated. The bathroom was nice and had a few little samples.

Just a street back from Copacabana Beach in a safe neighbourhood. Staff were helpful and easygoing with an amazing view from the breakfast room on the roof! The rooms were quite dated, and furniture very old, with a very weird smell - keep the cupboards closed!
