The staff cannot speak any English at all. I don' know what it is with Brazil but this is not uncommon here. If you need any help you are on your own. You can pay to get a safety deposit box in the room (it is not included). The hotel is one block from the beach Copacabana. There are also cheap internet places and everything you need within a short walk. The area like all of Copacabana is a bit sketchy. If you want safety go to Ipanema or LeBlon. The rooms are spacious and comfy but a bit dated. The bathroom was nice and had a few little samples.

Just a street back from Copacabana Beach in a safe neighbourhood. Staff were helpful and easygoing with an amazing view from the breakfast room on the roof! The rooms were quite dated, and furniture very old, with a very weird smell - keep the cupboards closed!

We had this hotel selected for us as part of our tour - however it was one of the better hotel experiences we had in south america. A block away from Copacabana Beach and the main shopping/eating street in the other direction. Perfectly located. The resturant on the top floor was great for breakfast. The buffet breakfast was very good. The room itself was comfortable and quite roomy for couples. Only drawback was the slow speed of the lifts however this was minor.

Located one block back from the beachfront, from my corner room I can just about see the sea. Rooms are clean but basic, slightly outdated decor but functional. Staff seem reasonably helpful. Breakfast reasonable - bread, cold meat, cheese, fruit, cereal. No swimming pool. Not an unpleasant place to stay but you could find somewhere nicer for not much more money.
