“Dated Hotel in a Convenient Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

This hotel isn't cheap but decently priced compared to others in this area of Copacabana. It feels dated (particularly the ancient elevators) but everything appeared to be clean. Front desk staff was generally helpful but didn't come across as a happy bunch. (When asked for a lunch recommendation, I was answered with a shrug.) Breakfast was adequate but nothing memorable. Rooftop pool is quite shallow and small.

“Adequate, not luxury”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

This was a perfectly adequate hotel, but nothing special, and certainly not 4-star. The room was plain and clean, service was fine. Breakfast was OK, though not special. They were doing major construction in the lobby while I was there, so it was noisy during the day, but my room (facing a courtyard) was fine. The location was great -- from the hotel, I could walk anywhere in Copacabana and (if you like to walk, as I do) Ipanema. Most of my business was in other parts of Rio, but it didn't take long by taxi to get where I was going. I'm not sure about value -- my hosts paid the room, so I don't know the actual cost.

“Nice Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

My father and mother in law, my wife and me stayed at this hotel for a short run. It is very well located, being two blocks from Copacabana beach. It also has easy access to every sightsee around. A taxi is a very nice option and not that expensive. The rooms are very clean.
We did not have any problem during our stay. The staff helped us a lot, providing directions, and suggestions on where to go for a walk, or for dinner. There are countless restaurants around, for any kind of taste. Italian, arabic, japanese, chinese,... and so on.
Feel comfortable to take short walks into the Copacabana neighbourhood. The area is pretty safe.
I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

“Decent price, comfortable room, a little noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2010

The room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was very good and it is located at a very convenient spot in Copacabana. Our room was facing the street so it got really noisy morning but my parents were staying in the back and it was very quiet. No views though
The staff at the reception is not very friendly but better than most.
The pool was somewhat salted. I don't think it was supposed to be a salted pool because when I mentioned it at the reception they said they would look into it. We also asked for towels at the pool and that never arrived.

“Very expensive because it has, it is not 4 stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

Very expensive because it has, it is not 4 stars. What I found reasonable was to reception and the service of the officials, the bathroom of the apartment and the cleaning of the rooms. The sheets were hardly fitting the bed. The best is the location, it is near to the beach and the commerce. It has a good sight of the city to appreciate in the covering of the building. The very basic breakfast without many choices. I would classify this hotel a good one 2 stars.
