“Too expensive for what it is”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The hotel has a very good location. The staff is ok(they have not allowed us for the late check out), the rooms are very tight and the bathroom is small and dark.
But the worst was the breakfast. The place was too small for every guest, so I needed to wait 15 minutes and nothing! So I decided to have it on my own.
But breakfast is one of the most important thing for the hotel, at least it could be delivered in the room as they don´t have space for everyone, but they charge for it!

FOr sure you can find some good hotels around with the same price and best quality around.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Rio is expensive and this hotel is no different. It is in a great location, right between Copacabana and Ipenema. We had booked a deluxe room which was on the 11th floor and had a great view of the beach. The room was clean and the staff seemed friendly (the only downside was that when we asked the reception about another restaurant the guy said he wasn't allowed to give us any info on other restaurants as the hotel has their own restaurant! He was very apologetic though and we could tell he thought this policy was ridiculous).
The main annoyance was the speed of the elevators, seriously we once waited for about 7 minutes for the lift to come - leave the hotel earlier than you plan to so you have time to wait for the elevator.
Overall it was a nice, clean hotel in a great location and I would recommend it.

“love the view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

this is my second stay in this hotel. we were here for 5 nights. i requested my husband to stay here again coz it's in between ipanema and copacabana. price is decent and free wifi. we we're on 9th floor (was upgraded) to a room with beach view. the last time, we had same room. the staff are very good, specially the housekeeping staff. i was given 2 dozens of yellow roses and they put it in a vase, nice touch! the front desk are very helpful. the free breakfast is plentiful and has variety of foods. i love their fresh fruits. they have scrambled eggs on the buffet, but, if you like sunny side up, just let the staff know and they'll give u. they have all the amenities in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioners, hair cover, etc), and room is very spacious. i also have to mention, they have mini bar and the room is clean. the private cars outside the hotel is a lot cheaper to hire going to places compared to the ones in copacabana hotels (don't know why). sorrounding place is safe and we walk even at night or shall i say in the wee hours. i recommend this hotel

“good deal during overpriced seasons (new year, carnaval...)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed in this hotel for the 2012 new year's eve. Rio at this time of the year is unsanely expensive (not kidding). I picked this hotel because eventhough it is not located in Ipanema, it is not far (Copacabana is always way cheaper than Ipanema or Leblon). The room was ok, though nothing exceptional, but clean and everything working (TV, shower, AC...).
I would recomend this hotel as a good option to stay during overpriced seasons (new year, carnaval etc.) where any average (sometimes below average) room in Ipanema gets quickly around 800€ a night. If you are going off season there are tones of betetr options in Ipanema and Leblon.
Forget about the pictures of the rooftop pool, it's really tiny! The view though is amazing. The gym is bad (almost everything is broken).

“Location, Location, location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

After reading some of the tripadvisor reviews of this hotel, I was afraid it was going to be a kip but I got a pleasant surprise when we got there. It's clean, the staff are lovely and the breakfast is ok, lots of nice fresh fruit. The wifi is a bit crap in some parts of the hotel but ok on the lobby. It wouldn't work in our room on the 12th floor, but it worked if I stood in the 12th floor corridor. (odd I know) The rooms are small but you're in Rio, what do you want to be hanging out in your hotel room for??! The location is perfect, I'd advise turning right and walking for five mins when you get outside the door and swimming in Ipanema not Copacabana as the water is kinda dirty there at times.
