Althought the hotel is in a good location, the place is a bit run down and over priced. I stayed over New Year so prices were vastly inflated and for £350 a night the room just did not live up to that price. The first room I was put in overlooked some sort of staff boiler room and there was a man right outside my window smoking and no view whatsoever, I requested a move and got a room on the 12th floor. Be warned - the windows open right up and it is extremely dangerous as you could easily fall out of the window, Definitely not a place for children, sleep walkers or those who may have had a few drinks.
The bathroom was old fashioned and the walls were covered with a grey sort of ply board - probably to hide bad tiling. The towels are so old they are brown rather than white.
On a positive note - the staff are friendly and helpful and keen to please. The rooms were cleaned efficiently and quickly but you did notice breakfast trays were left on the side in the corridors all day.
On departing the doorman ordered me a taxi to go to the airport and they wanted to charge RS$80 which is an absurd price. I hailed a yellow can and paid just under RS$50. The doorman was not happy that I chose not to take his can which incidently looked like a private vehicle.
If they spent some money doing the place up it would be so much better and they'd attract more people.
