Not really worth of the money. I paid 600 local currency and i just think that old hotel as this with bad service shoukd not pay this much.

amazing view is the first thing that comes in my mind apart from good service

Checked in 20 Dec 2011 for a 4 night pre-cruise stay. Great hotel, clean and Wow ! the view over Copacabana Beach is breathtaking. You can stand on your little balcony and watch the hustle and bustle of Rio go by. The rooms and bathrooms were a good size. The breakfast was great. Huge variety from fresh pasties, to fruist, cereals to hot breakfast. Very central. Walking distance to Ipanema beach and a few streets of shops behind the hotel. Sugarloaf and Christ redeemer not too far away so can go by taxi or take a tour. The pool at thew top of the hotel was probably our only dissapointment. The pool is very small and the food served was way overpriced and below standard, but once a gain the view made up for it. Will definitly stay there again if we ever go to Rio again.

I stayed in this oceanfront hotel many times during the last 23 years and nothing to much did change during that time. Ask for junior suites above 20th. floor oceanview and you likely get a renovated room. The pool on the roof top is great ! Free towels, chairs and tables right on the beach. For the price it is a pretty good deal with fantastic views over Copacabana.
