“the hotel's class is not 5 star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

the reception is not fast.I have waited on the reseption about 2-2,30 hours. The hotel reception have told me ,please wait 1 hour to clean the room. But we have waited more than 2 hours. The room was good and bed was large enough. But the lobi was not good and furniture was like a dirty and old.The hotel assitant were helpful and kindly.I was happy about it.The breakfast was good but not enough for 5 star hotel. It must be more fruits and cheese and olive and olive oil of kind. The swimming pool is small. The fitness center is very good. The hotel was good but i think the hotel's class cannot be 5 star.!
The price was expencive i think The price must be more cheap!

“Excelent option for business or leisure, a real 5 stars hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

One of the only new refurbished hotels in Rio. Well located to get to central Rio but enjoing a superb beach, less crowded than Ipanema. Rooms are not huge but they all the fittings you expect in a real 5 stars hotel. The 2 pools are nice for a quick dive in and the all the staff is proffesional. Good value for money, taking into account how expensive Brazil is for europeans an americans. You can`t be wrong choosing this hotel, something not obvious in Rio or Brazil in general!

“Lovely start to our South American holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at the Windsor Atlantica for 4 nights on our first stop of our South American tour. The hotel is lovely. Situated at the north end of Copacobana next to Leme, it has lovely views from it's rooftop pool and bar of the full sweep of Copacobana and Sugar Loaf mountain. The room was big, clean and modern. The shower was amazing (a big plus I always think!). Check-in was good, after arriving into Rio at 10pm it was after midnight before we got to the hotel and they couldn't have been more attentative - helping with our bags, explaining everything to us - all spoke good english. Breakfast was great - fresh eggs and waffels made to order. Recption offer currency exchange and are very helpful when it comes to recommendataions. The only draw back was having to pay for wi-fi - I would expect this as a given in todays world. Accommodation in Rio is expensive no matter where you go. We found the Windsor Atlantica to be great value for the standard that we got!

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side (# xx7-xx11) don't get a view of the beach - just Sugar Loaf and even th...

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The hotel is good but extremely overpriced - you can get better hotels in the region for half its price.

On the positive side, rooms are very clean and staff service is awesome (and this is very hard to find in Rio de Janeiro). Breakfast is fantastic also. Nevertheless, the best thing of the hotel is the pool on the roof... what a view from there!

The hotel's weaknesses rely on its price and that is does not allow visitants to get to the rooms or use its accommodations.

“Great hotel in a perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Stayed 2 nights and we had a fantastic time. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was on Copacobana beach and we had fabulous views from our room. The hotel is slightly dated but the service was good and the rooms are spacious. It has everything you need. The only drawback was no free wi if in the hotel, most hotels do have free wi if in the lobby.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with beach view room
