Mercure Apartments in Rio are almost usual Mercure style hotel but the accommodation is 1 bedroom and living room with kitchenette. Prices are rather high but the level of service is also high enough to satisfy a customer.
Pros:
- location! it was chosen intentionally to stay straight between Copacabana and Ipanema. And it is worth staying here I must say. Although your room's window provide no view here, but it's only 5 minutes walk to the greatest city beaches. Arpoador cape is really nice presenting fantastic view of Ipanema beach. The neighborhood is quiet and safe enough and you can walk here in the evening with no worry;
- friendly reception staff works perfectly when checking in and out; also they could advise you two options for city tour (5-6 hour express and 8 hours full including rodizio dinner) and best places to visit nearby;
- great breakfast, all that you desire in the morning is here and fruit choice is extensive;
- nice free coffee machine in the lobby;
- convenient free wi-fi internet in the room.
The only complaint was:
- small hotel pool was out of service during our stay, but with announcement provided.
