This hotel has a good location, between Ipanema and Copacabana.
The rooms are composed with a living room, kitchen, bathroom and a room.
There is a swiming pool even If we didn't try it.

Having visited Rio a number of times this is the only hotel I have returned to.
The location is ideal...very close to both Ipanema and Copa and the area has a much 'safer' feel than some parts of the city.
I have always found the staff to be helpful and although not all are fluent in English this has never been a problem.
I do not take breakfast at the hotel as there really is no need...rooms are well equiped with a small kitchen area and a very short walk to to local shops in the morning for fruit,warm bread and juice is the perfect start to the day!
All told with hotel prices rising rapidly in Rio this hotel represents good value in a great location

I stayed in Mercure for business. The hotel is an apartment hotel so you have kitchen and all. The couch in the living room was quite old and distracted. The bedroom is very nice.
The staff is absolutely helpful and friendly but not everyone speaks English - like go for breakfast and forget about English! I don't speak Portuguese so it was tough. Called for room service, they talked in Portuguese and I caught the word reception so called them. The reception staff is quite friendly.
