We had such a wonderful stay at Casa Caminho do Corcovado. The location of the house was perfect for us---away from the intensity of the city but just a quick cab ride to all the main attractions. My husband and I were on our belated honeymoon and Helena recommended the detached cottage for our four day stay, and we loved it. The cottage had a bedroom and sitting room plus private bath, all immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. We had our own little courtyard to relax under the trees and watch the monkeys in the morning. We were invited to use the downstairs of the main house, along with the other guests, whenever we wanted. They have a relaxing and beautifully furnished open-air sitting room that looks out onto the view below, and has reliable wi-fi too. We loved breakfasts, prepared by Valeria and Helena, especially the fresh fruits and fruit juices! The house is also very secure, and has restaurants in walking distance. We enjoyed walking to Melone for a slice of pizza and one of their many amazing juices. As for activities, we decided to take both the City Tour and the tour to Buzios, a beach town about two hours away by car. Diogo was our guide, and he was fantastic! He speaks very good English and we learned so much about the city's history and talked often about the current social and political issues of the city and Brazil. Valeria was able to join us for our trip to Buzios too and it was just so much fun. We could not imagine our time in Rio without having met this wonderful family! We hope to return when we can for more adventures!

We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2012 and it was wonderful. There is a taxi stand and bus stops at the bottom of the hill so getting around town is very easy and not very expensive. Helena helped us with the bus routes, so you can act like a local even if you don't speak any Portuguese! Also at the bottom of the hill is the Corcovado station where you can catch the tram to Christo Redemptor. Breakfast was fantastic - more than you could ever eat. Valerie baked some coconut cakes that were the best! Diogo is very sociable and can tell you what is going on in Rio. Diogo says that Valerie makes the best caipirinha. We did not get a chance to try them, but I have no reason to doubt either of them, so you should try it.
The room (Toucan) was very simple, but clean and nice. Just perfect, I think. The grounds were spectacular. Wonderful views from the porch, where we saw monkeys, toucans and lots of other birds. Much better than the touristy hotels!!

Room tip: We were perfectly happy in the Toucan room, but the bungalow looks very quaint and romantic.

Beautiful old villa turned B&B on edge of forest next to Corcovado tram station. Surrounded by trees, bamboo & greenery. Birds & monkeys in the trees, quiet comfortable lawn & porch to relax on. Helena was a perfect hostess, recommending sights, restaurants & beaches. We took taxis from the B&B but a nearby square had buses to all parts of town. Absolutely safe, calm, cool in the summer heat. We hope to return soon!

We had a great time at Casa Caminho do Corcovado. Helena and Diogo are perfect hosts. The house is very clean, comfortable, very nice garden and the breakfast is amazing. It´s a nice place to rest and relax. Next time in Rio we will stay there again! Congratulations Helena and Diogo for the good job you do!

I went many times to Rio but I wanted to stay closer to the nature and this B&B was my best choice. It is a big classic mansion located next to Corcovado (Jesus Christ statue) and it is surrounded by lushy green nature. The B&B is very well maintained and I felt like home.
I really enjoyed staying with my hosts Helena and Diego. They were very friendly and provided all the needs I had. I also felt safe about walking around the region.
It was easy to catch a bus or cab to go to the trendiest places like Copacabana, Ipanema, Centro and etc. I definitely will come back!

Room tip: All the rooms are very quite because it is located in the middle of a jungle.
